Stanley, firstly, the only low cost conenction I have from Belgrade to the UK is to either to heathrow or Stanstead..Once I arrive there, I have to catch a train or bus to Liverpool, then there is the ticket for matches, which are very hard to get a hold of since the matches are usually spold out months in advance or tickets are available to vi-p members firstly. Then there is the accomodation and food etc. Perhaps if I lived in a western European country where salaries were bigger I could afford it, but let me break down the costs for you.
Return flight from Belgrade - 120-180 euros depending on how far in advance you book
transport from airport to Liverpool - about 100 quid
Accomodation - 200-300 euros
Now if you take into a account that as a university educated adult working in a government firm, I earn about 450 Euros a month you see the problem.
The average salary in Serbia is 300 euros a month, so 450 is ok for here, but go abroad and you cant survive a week.
Also if you take into account I have a 2 year old son, am paying off a 50k Euro loan for my flat etc...you see my point.
I saved up for years to go watch Liverpool last time, and I will go again for sure, but I have to put food on the table and a roof over my family's head first.
I would love to come though...
