In terms of ability? Yes. NO !!! I dont think they may have seen to many true legends like Case, Kennedy, Emlyn e.t.c. faz so maybe thats why players like Gerrard and Suarez are put on equal footing or pedastals, I dont think age can be held against them in fact its a pity people under the age of about 30 have never really seen Liverpool win the league properly, guess we have been blessed to have witnessed what we have, bein the old ar*es we are. I have seen them all and rose tinted spectacles should not be worn when assessing players. Being old doesn't make you wise, If you cant judge a player you cant judge a player no matter what age you are. The 3 players you have mentioned were very good players who played in a brilliant Liverpool team, none of them were remotely near world class. Suarez and Gerrard are very good players playing in a very average Liverpool team, neither of them are world class. As captain of a Champions League winning Liverpool team Steven Gerrard is every bit as big a legend as Hughes, Hansen and Souness.

players like hughes, ray kennedy, jimmy case , souness, keegan have won many european cups and league titles and been massive influence in those successes , yes gerrard the best of his generation and right up there , but these players are true liverpool f.c. as for world class i would say they were especially ray Kennedy who did it not just for liverpool but was the spearhead of the arsenal double winners of 1971 .

I also think when you are actualy watching a game live you getter a better insight than watching on the telly so again you are in a better position to judge. I think Gerrard is a fantastic player but not world class in my opinion he simply has not achieved enough big trophies in his career to qualify, you get them by reaching the pinnacle of your career they go hand in hand. People sometimes say players like Souness, Hansen and Dalglish e.t.c. are world class because they played in world class teams well thats because they were good enough to manouvre there careers to make sure there talent played in them, there was no stopping Gerrard doing the same but he sacrificed his career so can have no excuses. You cant put players who would of dont it alongside players who have actualy done it thats the difference, your guessing and speculating they would of done it and thats why in my opinion you cant put Gerrad and certainly not Suarez up there with Souness and Dalglish's of this world.

I thought Gary McAllister was a fantastic player for Leeds United won them a League title but come on you could'nt seriously put him alongside Billy Bremner in the legends stakes for Leeds United now could you and thats not taking anything away from Gary Mac.

In reply to coolflames not faz
Experience is only useful if you have an ability to judge a player to begin with.
In one of your other guises on here you stated that tactics and team formations were over rated so I would question your footballing knowledge.
In my opinion I would have rated Keegan, Dalglish, Souness and Rush as world class. faz rates Ray Kennedy as world class, I don't but I respect his opinion.
Your estimation of Gerrard's career is farcical in my opinion. You regularly try to belittle his achievements as a Liverpool player.
But to be frank you belittle the club in some way in practically every post you submit

Since it's a stalemate, can I be the tie breaker? You compared the copa America to the league cup and said they were on par....You also said that teams such as Villa, Sunderland and such would defeat Columbia... On that basis alone, i declare Shaggy the winner of that debate. Just my opinion though....
