Complete Murph........complete.

If you have a problem with anyone who supports the reds, whether they be loacl or OOT, then you aren't a true supporter.

the funny thing is about these scousers who abuse oot fans is that they think they are superior.i've been following lfc home and away. in that time i've met many scousers and all but a few have packed it all in after a handful of seasons. whereas i know oot fans who are still going strong 20 years on!

as for the glory hunting debate. in some cases i agree.but there are many thousands who just love lfc and would follow them even in the lower leagues.

on a personal note i started "supporting" lfc as a 6 or 7 year old. i didnt know anything about lfc it's just that when asked at school who i supported the only teams i'd heard of were lfc, arsenal, derby, man utd, chelsea and spurs. it would have been the mid 70's at latest and obviously they were the best teams back then. i didnt know anything about lfc but i just liked the name and one of my first school friend "supported" them, so i just followed suit. sad i know!

then came 1976 and i accidentally caught my first ever football match on tv.it was a saturday morning and at the age of nine i was tuning in to watch champion the wonder horse ot whatever was on. all i could find was the fa cup final build up. man utd v southampton. so i sat and watched the lot. from around 9am until 6 pm. none stop football. that game made me understand and fall in love with the game.

after that i tried to find out as much as i could about my club "liverpool" i didnt even know about league tables let alone titles until then. i discovered names of clubs local to me i didnt even know existed. and obviously as a kid could only watch my home town team.

but seeing lfc on tv and seeing the kop was the clinching factor of me never changing my allegiance. you see the kop was the most awe inspiring end in the world. watch any goal scored at the kop end in the 70's and those scenes cannot be matched by any other club or ground.

once i left school at 16 in 1983 i started following the reds home and away. through the hooligan years when you took your life in your hands, during the fashion crazed years when scousers led the way in casual culture and through the dark years of disaster.

as an oot fan i tried to fit in. i think if you adopt lfc as your club you have to learn the history, the tradition and how to behave.

i understand why some scousers hate the current crop of oot/day tripping fans we get. muppets singing "who are ya",wearingjester hats and spending half the game taking picutures or using mobiles....it drives me mad too!
the abundance of colour inside anfield is not what i like to
as an oot fan i stick up fopr scousers. i live in an area where scousers are disliked to say the least. i bet most oot fans have similar experiences. the robbing scouse jibes. the murderers label. the charging the gates at hillsborough accustations. jeez i could have been in jail by now if i hadnt learnt to hold back from kicking the shyt out of there wankkkers. i feel i spend my whole life defending scousers and turning the other cheek.

then what thanks do you get? you're at some game. a game you've travelled a hundred miles to see and some spotty faced, scruffy scouse scally calls you a wool and tells you to support your local team!

what a joke. i can guarantee that if lfc had the history of my local team these "super local reds" would be blues! lfc would be another tranmere, crewe or chester. and these wool abusers would be going to goodison or old trafford!

it is the easiest thing in the world for scouse liverpool fan to say "support your local team". aferall their local team is one of the greatest ever.

it's interesting that since our last title win 20 years ago the ration of scousers to oot fans has changed immensely. i'd say in 1990 we still have a vast majority of scousers at games. now irt's 50/50 at best. wonder why that is?

just seen the post about fans being divided,it's true. this is one of the main reasons we have such a bad atmosphere at games.as an oot fan i know i'm not that poplar,i'm regarded as an intruder.i know that if i start singing an no one joins in every scouser around me(not that there are many) will think"heard that stupid wool?"

i know lads who watch man utd, they have done for years. they have never experienced any comments about them not being from manchester. it just doesnt happen at united. what makes lfc so special?
