I thought it has always been clear that FSG are only concerned about their pockets? They want the best ROI and that's why they will only consider expanding anfield. We'll be silly to think otherwise.

But it has a lot to do with FSG getting the finger out, and it will have a lot to do with where we finish in future years

Yeah, King, its sh1t or get off the pot for FSG and as you say this season will tell us much about their game plan. Rodgers and Ayer were both talking about adding quality in the upcoming window, so if it wasn't more hot air, perhaps we can hope, but wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be 'promising' quality rather than PL ready quality.
Re; the op, I'd go for Spurs as I think they might be easier to catch next season than Arsenal, but really it's a much of a muchness

If Arsenal miss out it will only be for one season as there Stadium is now paid for and I fully expect Arsenal to spend big this summer, Spurs if they make it will be able to bring in a better calibre of player again than what's already there and with a new stadium just around the corner this in turn will push these along with the big three further away from the chasing pack again. I still don't understand Liverpool fans still talking about champions league when there is zero evidence now or in the future we will ever get in it, in fact Everton have more chance.

Perhaps you aren't one, then.

Also, in terms of evidence, I disagree. We have the best player in the prem, and he's just committed to staying. I don't see his problems changing if he goes elsewhere. We have a rejuvenated attack that has scored loads of goals, and our form has been pretty excellent since December. Since then, we've won 12, drawn 6, and lost 5. And most of our wins have been by 2 or 3 goals. If we maintain that sort of form, we'll do very well next year. We have a good squad. We have good players. A few reinforcements and a touch of class, and we really have something here.

Suarez is a better player than Bale. Bale doesn't have the baggage maybe, but Suarez does more.
