There's a lot more to our decline than any failings Dalglish may have had, and I know he had his failings like all our other managers, though Faz Heaping it so much onto the shoulders of one manager is a bit nonsensical, For me the main culprits were those owners who slept on the job and then fumbled in the greasy till until such time as they could slink into the shadows with the loot. I seldom hear you or the other posters who bore us to tears with their hate for Dalglish, say much about them. Yet it's them that bear the main responsibility for what happened to this club, and not one of their appointees, I think you should try for some balance there Faz.

Sorry, yes, Peter Robinson, the then majority owner who ends up being the better off after all, even better than H&G and FSG and of course the fans

Peter Robinson was never a majority owner

No? Who was? Was he not controlling the board of directors being probably at least the biggest shareholder?

No vish I think a consortium owned it mainly the moores family who made their money from from the football pools.

Peter Robinson was just a paid employee who had a few shares

Just read through this, some unbelieveable claims on here.

KD to blame for United's success based solely on one game.

Utter clap trap, and United owner stated categorically during the week that United would NOT have sacked Bacon face if they had failed to win the cup that year.

United's success coincided with the arrival of Sky into football and they benefitted financially from that more than any other club.

We had our period of domination at the wrong time, that's the difference.

Really? I thought he was the chairman, who controlled the board then, and who was calling the shots?

Wasn't Moores the chairman though, thought he was and with Parry was calling the shots.

Moores took over in 1991 when he became majority shareholder but he was by no means the only shareholder. Prior to this no one individual had a majority holding.

After 1991 moores had more of a controlling influence. The big players were John smith David moores Peter Robinson and Noel white.

If you like the guilty men from the immediate post and pre 1991 era when all the mistakes were made that resulted in the clubs present day plight
