I am a bit skeptical...Although I don't think Moyes is the right person, I am sure Fergie played a big part in getting him there and Fergie knows football. So if it was Fergie's suggestion, I fear Moyes might surprise us all...

How will Moyes doing well be a surprise? Seriously, the guy is one of the best in modern football. When I hear, what has he won in 10 years? I ask who has done better with the same gig? No one. Not Wenger, not Ferguson nobody. He's spent ZERO and built a competitive team that can and do beat anyone on their day, some feat.

He is as close to a modern Clough that is possible and I'd argue even Clough was given more to spend than Moyes.

We should have tried to get him after Raffa departed, it's a pity successive owners at LFC have had about as much vision as 2 milk bottle tops.

Disagree...it will be a surprise as doing well on a budget at a mid table club and doing well at probably the biggest club in the world is 2 completely different things. Starting off with players egos, how will he deal with some the biggest egos in English football? He has no experience in that department. Secondly he will have immense pressure on his shoulders, succeeding Fergie. He has had no pressure upto now as he hasn't spent big and been forced to perform.

You say he's put a team together that can beat anyone yet he has never won away from home against united, Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool....

I don't think he is nearly as good as some are making out and YES I will be surprised if he has united in the top 2 next season without Fergie pulling the strings.

You make some good points mate, but all EPL players/team members have big egos today surely? Still stand by what I said but hope he does spectacularly badly. I've had enough of them up there as anyone else but I don't see it happening.

If he does half as well as the retiring manager it will still be better than most though.

That's true, and as I said, if Fergie pick him out the bunch, he must be quality because Ferguson knows football better than anyone. I just hope he cracks under the pressure.

I disagree that Moyes has done better than expected. Everton are a big club, from a big City with a big fan base, reasonable resources and a good strong history. Finishing top 8 for them shouldn't be classed as an achievement - that should be the bare minimum and he's only really done that 50% of the time.

Every team below Everton SHOULD be below Everton. The only exceptions, and these are debateable, are us and newcastle. Moyes has done nothing out of the ordinary. To support from stance on this, I've been reading quite a few fansites and listened to a lot of phone-ins....the majority of Everton fans aren't bothered that Moyes is going - many are quite happy about it. And nearly all Man Utd fans are very unimpressed that they are getting Moyes.

Cant see Moyes winning the league. Takes a top draw manager as well as a good team to win it. Look at the managers who have won its last 10 years. Wenger, Ferguson, Mourinho, Ancelotti. You cant but Moyes in the same brackett as them and I cant see how he is going to finish above Man City or Chelsea who have better players.

With the players that they have, and no alex ferguson, they will struggle to get in the top 4.

What kind of betting odds could I get on the 2013/13 season finishing like this:

1st Chelsea
2nd City
3rd Arsenal
4th Spurs
5th United
6th Liverpool

Probably quite good ones wink

I don't think anyone thinks they'll completely fall apart - just that their dominance is over

A lot of bitters have been unimpressed with him for a good few seasons now, and even wanted him out. This view might have changed this season, but he's hardly set the world alight.

Majority of Mancs are Kacking it. True story.
