Unless Utd appoint a top TOP manager, their reign is over. They had no business winning half of the things that AF has won them because more often than not they have a pretty ordinary squad. Their success is down to the fact that AF is head and shoulders above any other manager that has ever lived. There is no other explanation for their success.

Apart from their 76k capacity stadium and worldwide brand that dwarfs ours.

Their turnover is light years ahead of ours. They are linked with that polish striker for £40m to add to van Persia and Rooney.

We're no where near in those terms that you state but carheex is talking about squads and players. This time they have done pretty ordinary player bar Van Persie and maybe Rooney. Their midfield and defence is pretty weak player for player compared to City, Chelsea and I wouldn't say is that far ahead if ours.

Bacon face is the difference and it'll be interesting to see what they will be without him because as City and Chelsea have proved, money doesn't always buy success.

Amusingly, he says that it was important for him to leave the club in the best shape possible. Granted they are champions but they have a pretty poor squad. Whoever steps in this summer will be very fortunate if they finish in the top 4.

evra - good but getting on a bit
Vidic - good but injury prone and inconsistent
ferdinand - fitness issues, inconsistent and career near it's end
kagawa - very unimpressive so far
scholes - already retired once so no spring chicken
giggs - no spring chicken - he won't be getting any better
van persie - very good but won't be getting better at his age - limited time left
rooney - most over rated player in europe - never lived up to his achievement
carrick - decent but nothing special
valencia - see carrick
nani - see carrick but massively inconsistent
anderson - laughable
hernandez - good finisher but not much else
evans - nothing
jones - good
smalling - good
welbeck - average
young - good but inconsistent


......he is leaving the club with it's worst squad for quite a long time. in my opinion.
