Rodgers stays or goes does it really matter , no big money for players so whoever the manager is Liverpool will finish 5th to 8th for the considerable future.

I think it matters a great deal. moyes with our budget would get top 4. BR even had a chance in the last couple of weeks. if he hadn't of picked a crap team at southampton and we beat them and west ham and reading, we would be right up there . so i don't go for this a well we are screwed anyway . david moyes for manager.

What's with the Moyes thing all of a sudden,it ain't gonna happen so its pointless fantasising about it Emp.
That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

Moyes has flirted with relegation many times and has had 10 years to build a squad

I think he should get until the end of the season, another 6 weeks.
If Kenny was judged on not finishing amongst the Champions League places, despite getting to 2 cup finals, then it's only fair that Brendan is as well, heck Hodgson was being called to step down as early as October when we were in 12th place, yet Rodgers was in exactly the same place in October on less points, but because he talked a good game, there was no pressure on him.
I don't really want to wait 5 years to see if Brendan's made up philosophy works, over 50m spent this season on top of the same amount last season should have us beating top teams and competing at the top, the fact that we've only managed one win against top sides this season and been dangling mid-table for the whole of the season with the worst start to any campaign in over a century, says enough for me.

BR does not look better than KD for sure, but, should not be replaced by somebody worse ala Martinez and the likes. If he is replaced it should be a proven trophy winner. That said, I would still give BR 12 games next year (if we finish with at least 59 pts this season) and keep him if he is doing well (average of 1.8 pts per match but depends also the teams we are playing against). Why 12 games? So that the new manager gets some time to know the team before tge winter transfer window.

I do agree to a point Anne, but the suggestion is that top quality players are all at premium prices compared to that of mid-table isn't quite so. Price is more down to the value to your team, against the value of others. If you are astute in the window, you can sign Michu's, Benteke's, Hangeland's, Vidal's, Schurrle's, Ozil's, Hernandez's and Cavani's before their prices rocket and their true potential is known to all. If you take the prices of all of their last transfers, it seems like pennies to their value now. Michu (£2m) Benteke (£7m) Hangeland (£3m) Vidal (£10m) Schurrle (£6.5m) Ozil (£13m) Hernandez (£8m) Cavani (£14m). Lots of these are strikers, but merely people off the top of my head. They all impressed to get their initial moves, its the task of other clubs to notice their potential. All you need, is a talented coach with a formula for success, an ability to develop talent, and a great scouting department. You don't need lots of money to get to the top of the league. Just ask our neighbours about transfer money and see what response you get... I understand the point you're making jj, but most if not all those players you list, were found by 'selling' clubs which have a very high turnover of players and for every gem they unearth they buy two or three who never make good, thats ok for clubs who are reasonably happy to hang on in the PL, but LFC shouldn't copy that strategy, as it won't nor is it designed to take your club to the top. Our purchases over the last couple of seasons highlight the fact that too few of this type of signings come good and those who do take too long, it's ok if we want to hang out around mid table, but foolish if we want to hit the top level. FSG chose that policy in the mistaken belief that 'moneyball' would transfer seamlessly from baseball to football, or else in an effort to avoid having to compete in the transfer market. Either way it's doomed to failure barring a miracle, and miracles seldom ever happen unfortunately.
