Hopefully by then we would have built a 60k stadium at a much lower cost than the Emirates stadium. 10 years later and building costs have be dropping? Good luck with that one! The figures to redevelop Anfield to 60k is i think much lower than the cost to build the Emirates... Yeah, maybe gross, but remember Arsenal first sold flats on Highbury and also sold naming rights to Emirates Arena. We have none of those revenues to expect from our revamp of Anfield. Also building costs have risen by at least 100% since when Arsenal had their new stadium built.

So you are saying that we are doomed then? Certainly not! Just thought it was a funny comment from you there!

I dont think FSG want us in the champions league myself they need CL status for the £ yes but if they play champions league footie they would need to compete which means constantly trying to keep up with other Clubs in it which means having to put even more money in each season to sustain it. I think at the moment they just want us to stay competative and make them money, champions league clubs have a totaly different criteria, you watch Spurs next season if they qualify, they will have to spend even more money and bring in a better calibre of player than before which will cost them even more than what they pay now...

I know there was a major drop around 2007-2008, but from the time Arsenal had The Emirates Stadium built it's still much more expensive now.
But who knows, it might be possible to get things built cheaper now as the economy is so low.
Either way I look forward to see things start progressing around the re vamp of Anfield. Hopefully we'll get some good deals done around the project as well.

I'd imagine it'd be cheaper just on the basis that it's in the north of the country and not in London, so labour costs etc would be lower. Everything costs more in London

Our tickets are cheaper than Arsenal and Spurs cool do u choose to ignore that? They're the 2 main London clubs around us, Chelsea's tickets will be cheaper as they cant attract as many fans as they're all plastic
