i can see plenty of managers coming and going over the coming years myself. I look at the past at clubs with expectation levels beyond there means and they always had a management revolving door, united in the 70s and 80s, city under Peter Swales, Spurs under Irvine Scholar and the best of all deadly doug at Villa, even Everton under Philip Cater went through loads... united's expectations were never beyond their means... they've were the richest club in the country even in those days I believe. As for the other clubs, the revolving door policy is regarded as a reason for never finding the lasting success they craved. Fergie 6 years to win a title; Moyes 10 years and Everton are at their peak; Contrast that to Chelsea, Man City - the best money and managers and no sense of stability, ongoing success. I think we need to find someone we can stick with for a long time. It could be BR, but that doesn't mean I'll buy all his BS along the way. I happen to believe in chopping and changing managers, its the modern way, if you bring in a manager and he is not up to the task ship him in and then ship him out as soon as possible wether it's 6 months, a year or 10 years. The keeping hold of managers like Sir Alex, Wenger and David Moyes no longer works in todays game, do fans honestly think Sir Alex if United brought him in today would be given 6 years to get it right at United now, not in a hundred million years. I personaly dont think Rodgers is the right man, I am not saying he has'nt done some good things since he has been here but for me he has'nt improved us enough, he could of spent his transfer money better, handled certain situations better, his media skills are patronising and his policy on Cups is a disgrace, the man simply has'nt helped himself this season... The question is this: Do you remove a manager who has ended our season in february and who is no nearer the CL places than the manager he replaced or do you keep him because we need some continuity. BR will walk away from us with his compensation package into another job with a mid-table club and leave us up to our neck in sh1t. He is out of his depth and you only need to look at our season (or lack of one) to see that. I think Brendan Rodgers has done some good things for the Club, I enjoy going to the match a bit more now because the football we are trying to play is better however I just feel he has done more bad than good now, the biggest one for me was his Cup policy, I simply dont believe in resting players. I honestly think alrite there may be some cases where a player needs a rest in a cup game in order to help the team as in winning a League or something but come on resting players in order to secure a 7th place finish in the League, whats that about surely we can still play our full hit and still secure that, are we really that bad that we cant do both. I think we on oncorse to better our last seasons points tally, that means we have improved in the league, what we have to ask ourselves is, is it enough of an improvement considering he shelled out about 40 million quid on players who apart from Sturridge and we dont know about Cortinio or whatever his name is have all been massive flops...

I honestly can't believe this is a LFC forum. We can't start sacking people after 6 months. Bob Paisley didn't exactly set the world on fire at the start, and look what happened when he was given time. We had the fewest managers ever up to Dalglish and that was one of the biggest reasons for our success. We have to give Rodgers 3 years to see what he can do. Nobody is going to do much better with the squad he inherited, he's unfortunate that Dalglish blew £100m on crap players leaving not much left for BR.
Plus this whole debate about 4th is pointless cos the champions league is being killed by Platini. Far too many crap teams are in it, and a euro league will become a reality soon. Furthermore, the premier league will eventually go the way of rugby and have a playoff system. The prospect of a 'grand final' to decide the premier league will be too tempting to resist and would outshine the champs league.
Wish people would chill out a bit on here, we are LFC and are better than this.

Do you really believe that WBA or Everton or even Swansea have better squads than us? Swansea lost arguably 3 of their best players (one is regularly warming our bench, therefore nor good enough for us) but are at performing at least as last year if not better. You keep chilling, others want a minimum success.

Why are the toffes doing better than us this season. They certainly don't have unlimited funds but they certainly do spend wisely.

Yeah, but for all you know Rodgers might get it completely right next season. There's as much chance of that happening as there is someone new coming in, getting to know the squad all over again, bringing in some players based on what he learns over a short time, and getting the team playing his way.

But they have given there manager a lot of time to get to know the team, and for the team to learn his methods. Plus he's had time to build a team that suits the wayhe wants them to play.

There's as much chance of that happening as there is someone new coming in, getting to know the squad all over again, bringing in some players based on what he learns over a short time, and getting the team playing his way. Our problem at the moment is that we're not good enough to attract a top renowned manager. Any managwer coming into a new team tends to rely on "his" own players, and hence probably bring them into his new club. It's as typical that Redknapp keeps bringing in players he knows from before as it is BR bringing in Borini's. IMO it's therefore a big gamble to change managers too often at the moment, if we're aspiring to get back up in the top of PL. On the other hand we can't let a bad manager continue forever if he's failing. For me BR's reign has so far been a bit disappointing - but specifically more result wise and defence wise than in general. Our game plan has been positive and we tend to keep the ball much inside the team. There are still a few players missing before we can start challenging consistently, but we are making progress I think. To suggest that we would instantly start getting better results and playing better than we are at the moment, by installing the likes of Martin O'Neill is just insane.
