I'm a 35 y/o that's supported Lfc for the past 25 years. I don't live in liverpool I live in the south west (bristol) I do get to games when I can (twice a year min) I subscribe to liverpool tv and buy the shirts. I've also been to a worthington cup final vs Birmingham. I'd like to think of myself as a passionate fan. But for some people this will never be enough as I didn't grow up in liverpool. I don't care what these people think because I know what the club means to me. YNWA

I think the reasons why people support Clubs Like United and Liverpool is one of the reason which some people can't get there heads around. To pick a Club just because its successful or famous for a lot of people is the wrong reason to support a Club as anyone can do that and if everyone done it then football would finish because nobody would support the smaller less famous Clubs. What makes a person who say lives in Brighton who has no ties whatsoever with Liverpool or Manchester turn there backs on there home Town or City and go and pick the Club of another place when they have a perfectly good club on there own doorstep which they can actively go out and support every other week, can a
Somebody explain this to me as I just can't get my head around supporting a club you can't go and watch yourself, this is an honest question and not a digg at anyone...

Big deal. I've walked that far home after a night on the pi55!!

then you should remember what time the pick up was. you try travelling 30 miles on public transport in 1968

right, i will.....

That's heavy. You could stop your parents falling in love - if they can't dance they can't kiss and if they can't kiss they can't fall in love and your history!

I can't remember any kids running round the playground wanting to be Mansfield town striker Iffy Onoura. There wouldn't much rivalry if everyone supported their home town. Wouldn't be much office football banter, unless someone commuted from Chesterfield, ooh they've get it then the bloody spirite!

Everyone's got a reason for supporting Liverpool. The fact my brothers were fans is obviously because they were winning things at the time, it doesn't explain why I'm still a fan and make a couple matches a year. You just happen to be born into a city when the football team were top of the world. I don't have much interest in the city, it's just soil. History does interest me though so I guess I'm more interested in Liverpool than other cities due to the cultural and industrial links.
You're very fortunate and your dedication is really impressive.

I refuse to believe you don't 'get it' though.

Boy am I glad i didn't dish out 50 quid to go watch that game tonight....I am furious though. We actually played really really well but we were missing Sturridge and it showed BIG TIME! I cannot believe what a cruel mistress football can be sometimes.

I don't class myself as.a real fan don't know what I class myself as . But spare a thought for those at the match yesterday. We endured traffic jams on m6 and roadworks a580. Sub zero temperatures and arrived 10 minutes after kick off because of the traffic. Paid £50 for the privalege.

Then watched that crap.

At least you armchair fans can then simply switch channels. You are right we are wrong anyone who troubles themselves to be ripped off like that is not a fan but an idiot.

I am an idiot and a big one. Stuff you Ian Ayre

I can`t even believe there is this thread, absolutely ridiculas. It makes no difference how you come to support LFC, just the fact that you do should be enough for everyone. YNWA (unless of course your not from here!) crazy
