This points ruins your first, you could get a list twice as long as long for Fergie, Mancini, Wenger, Mourinho etc on who they've had confrontations with Joe quite so who would want a manager who never confronts?

can't think of one joe even howie did not make a go of it second time around. I am for rodgers at the moment and am not in favour of rafa coming back but he is successful at chelsea and rodgers fails i am warming to it but I cannot see FSG wanting rafa as he would not fit the corporate model

So why does he choose to stay in Caldy Joe and play such a role in liverpool life and the city? Once he left liverpool he had two young daughters yet chose to bring them up as scousers. You dont make sacrifices in life like that for show.
If he was a mercenary as you he would have been long gone back to madrid or wherever once they stopped paying him. Nothing I say will alter your views but I happen to think he has taken to the city and those tears were genuine at that time. stanley, I think in the past I have previously spoke about the unhealthy situation he has continued to leave the Club and fans in by continuing to live on the Wirrall. If that is not pre meditated then I don't know what is, if you look at it this way since he left the Club, the Liverpool Managers job has come up 3 separate times and the stench of Benitez has hung around every manager who has took the job since, how is this helping, if he loves the Club like he and a few on here claim he does then why doesn't he didn't he do the right thing and move away and distance himself from the Club so we can draw a line under it and all move on... Didn't Bill Shankly hang around the club and the training ground after he's resigned as manager? In fact I think some of the players still called him 'boss'. Do you have equal disdain for Shanks?

What Joe said here "he Liverpool Managers job has come up 3 separate times and the stench of Benitez has hung around every manager who has took the job since" is 100% correct, and no matter how much u disagree with the man this has to be admitted. Under Roy, Kenny and now BR we constantly hear "Bring back Rafa" and see numerous "bring back Rafa" threads, these are facts. What the hell has that got to do with anything?! So he's been linked with the job - how on earth is that a negative thing??

Do you have equal disdain for Shanks? if you know your history of the Club you will know Shanks constantly hanging around the Club and training ground caused great hardship for Bob Paisley at the time especially at the very beginning. Shanks in fact started to take more of a back seat then and even started turning up at Bellfield " Everton's Training Ground " which backed onto Shanks house in West Derby. If you remember another one of our favourite sons Roy Evans when he left in fact said Although I have been offered a job behind the scenes it wouldn't be fair to stay around the Club and be " A Ghost on the Wall " he did that because he knew quite well it would undermine the current boss which is more than what Benitez does by keeping a home in the area and never distancing himself from the job everytime it becomes available, if he loved the Club like he and some of the fans claim he does he would...

joe if rafa lived in the sefton or the arkles pubs in a flat i could see your point or if he looked over the fence at melwood standing on a wheely bin but he lives in caldy. Which for those who don't know a very upmarket area on the wirral about 15 or more miles from anfield and over the water its as near wales as anfield. nowhere near anfield either in distance or nature why not have a go at hansen or dalglish just up the road at southport / formby? sorry but you are being a bit silly with this one

So it was ok for Shanks or Evans to stay in Liverpool, but Rafa's got to move away ?? I've read some rubbish on these forums, but this is possibly the most laughable of all...

the stench of benitez is actualy the stench of the european and fa cup. its called success and the only reason we have never fully moved on is because the managers that followed didnt achieve what he did. he is hardly going to stay living in liverpool JUST to lure people in. the argument you are making is absurdly flakey. no its the stench of aquilani , dossena, ngog and starting the clubs decline and the stench of liverpool caught up in this cult that is chelsea's manager , chelsea's manager did bring massive success but also brought massive failure draged the clubs problem through the gutter to gain favor of the fans wasting millions at the same , i think it was Bar who said there should be a level playing field well you'll never have that when liverpool supporters can never seen any negative of chelsea's manager and have him like some sort of god like figure .
