I think he's going to do well. He has pace, and some urgency to his play. He can finish too.

Everyone loves to talk about Michu at the moment. But realistically how many £2m players are bought and do so well up front in the prem? No denying it's good business, but he is just the hot thing at the moment. We may have that kind of a good deal in Yesil after some development, who knows.

If you want to talk about Michu's £2m transfer fee is pointless now, by extension rather than buying Falcao for 40, should Chelsea by 20 players for £2m? No.

A player is worth what a team are prepared to pay for him and it looks like we're buying him for £12m.

I think it's going to be a good signing, that's just me.

Sturridge is being given an extra £1.5M by Chelsea just to leave because he would be happy to sit out his contract.

In terms of his attributes and ability to play as a central or wider attacking player I think Sturridge could be ideal for us, I just hope he doesn't sulk too much. As others have mentioned this may have just been due to not previously being given a run in team so hopefully if/when he arrives he'll be raring to go. I don't see him as a mercenary though, it looks like he just wants to play and the fact that he didn't want to come on loan in the summer may be an indication that he is looking to settle some where and make the most of his career rather than be farmed about picking up his salary.

I'd like Ba to come too but if people are talking about mercenaries he really does take the biscuit.

I think you're very very wrong on a number of things here.

1. Are people not allowed an opinion on what and who they think would be a good transfer and a good price? Of course they are. People need to realise that's what a forum is for. If you think he might be good, then say why, if you have absolutely 0 to offer on the subject of sturridge why are you posting? he and anyone else is completely entitled to discuss their opinion on what and who they think is good business. ITS THE POINT OF THE FORUM.

2. I don't think anyone would be livid at a 2 million pound signing. When it comes to signings over 10 million, especially considering it seems as though we don't have an enormous budget, people start to get slightly more anxious as our record recently has been mixed to say the least.

I do agree with your last point though. Having him improves our squad, if he kicks on he could improve our first team. Giving him a chance and hoping he does well is great, but it doesnt mean we can't criticise the transfer if we think its a bad one.

tevez, rooney, aguero, silva, rvp, torres, etc etc all play for big Clubs who play Champions League each season that's why those clubs can afford to pay them that...

Tevez, Aguero, Rooney, RVP also really should not be compared with Demba Ba as they are not one, but 3 classes above him.

Descent player he's better than what we already have. Should be good support for Suarez and sterling and when boring comes back will be quite interesting to see where Rodgers plays everyone and who will be first choice
