Rafael Benitez's position is "not on the agenda" despite Liverpool's shock FA Cup defeat by Reading, according to managing director Christian Purslow.

Benitez is under increasing pressure as boss after the loss to the Championship side, an early Champions League exit and poor Premier League form.

Despite his problems, the Spaniard has vowed to fight on at Anfield.

And, in an email to BBC Sport, Purslow reiterated that Benitez has the full support of the club's board

if purslow really supports the coach. Then he should come out and say we knw we have problems, we know we lack quality and depth. We will address it in the summer

im very upset, im gutted, i cant tolerate the current form.

But i still stand with the coach because i cant belive that last year this time we were ontop. and this year we down and out.

When rafa can sit at the same table and buy the same quality like torress in other positions, i will be happy.

Right now the man is wheeling and dealing in the loan market because the club cant afford big players.

i would be happy if it was just the players were not good enough and yes that explains some of it. However is still believe that there are issues between Rafa's management and the squad. This is the part that is really effecting the play on the pitch and i don't believe that this can be improve unless of causes he ships most the squad out and start from scratch. With our budget this isn't happening.

I admire people that still back him (not too many left i think) but i frankly don,t and thing that he has lost the plot somewhere and cannot get it back. I still will cheer the lads tomorrow and every game.

Rafa's contract probably has targets to meet. I can't believe they would sack him before he fails to meet a target as that would mean they would be liable to pay up his contract. however if he doesnt meet a target losing his job might be part of the contract. i believe things will be clearer at the end of the season & people should stop calling for his head before then as it is not going to happen.
