I am not ignoring that fact. They are two completely separate things.
I think to score a goal like that is on the same level as diving for a penalty or diving when theres no contact feigning injury. I don't think committing one allows the other though and this is where we wildly differ
I also don't agree with your perception that there was minimal contact having watched it a few times The thing is, we don't actually differ that much. We both agree that committing one doesn't allow the other. I've already said that it'd be more fitting if only the offending player had been punished. We seem to differ on which is worse, breaking an actual rule in the game or breaking a 'custom' and you haven't denied or confirmed that, even though I've asked twice now. Interestingly, I've just heard on talksport that Adriano is being charged with 'unsportsmanlike conduct' by UEFA, I didn't even realise that was possible, if it's allowed by the rules, it's not cheating, right?

no, its always been like that , sportsmanship is very subjective, if it were something'' in the rules '' then the ref "should have dealt with it" accordinig to FA / eufa as we dont have TV justice not yet anyway maybe judge judy should come into play,
only the ref couldnt do anything as the player that scored the goal as you said before, didnt break any rules, just a 'custom' and we know how those change...
This is where the hypocrites of the FA or UEFA strut about now they have find a scape goat. They will say nothing about the to55er who ran towards the other player and bounced off him like he had been hit by a car
Hyprocrites

Couldn't agree more!
We see it week in week out, players go unpunished after purposely elbowing other players in the face (I'm thinking Rooney vs Wigan and RVP vs Newcastle) because the referee apparently 'saw' the incident. Yet they can go back and retrospectively punish somebody who didn't actually break a rule. That is bloody ridiculous.

Surely you can see that the player is totally overreacting to the very minimal (at best) contact. Why is he doing that? To get a Shaktar player booked and that, whether you like it or not is cheating. Unfortunately for the player it back fired, the ref had none of it and to make matters worse Shaktar profit directly from the guy cheating. Are you really going to say there's no sense of justice in that?
I'm not arguing that people will remember this and it'll teach people not to dive/pretend to be hurt but in this one instance the player got what he deserved as I bet he feels like a fool now.
You seem to ignore that the first guy was cheating and Adriano's actions were simply unsportsmanlike.. what's worse? there is absolutely no sense of justice in that situation. Justice would have been at most if the ref felt the player was feigning injury would be to book the player. Justice is not the concession of a goal when everyone has stopped playing as per the norm when the play has been stopped and one team is giving the ball back to another. Both players are guilty, but Adriano is far worse IMO Ok, perhaps we should call it Karma then...his cheating came back to bite him in the a*s...

Actually I've just had a look at the incident again here; http://www.soccer-blogger.com/2012/11/21...ampions-league/It's quite a bit longer than the video originally posted at the beginning of this thread and shows much more of Nordsjaelland player's collision with the Shaktar player. There's much more contact that I originally saw and I must admit it does slightly make me think twice. Apologies Maxi.

yeah i saw it too it was a ahorrific violent assault by the defender its amazing he is not in a coma that player! You need to also look in conjunction with the orginal video (ie the one showing a wider view of pitch -the original one on you tube is now deleted) he wasn't running at any speed, the other vid on the new site is so close up you have no idea if he was aware of the defender or not,
i would agree however, that there is more contact than i thought y but i personally think he did more than make a meal of it , as usual the player got up within seven seconds after going down.

Oh yeah, I agree with that. I just hadn't realised how much 'contact' there was, earlier I said it was minimal at best, I think it's more than that but still not enough to warrant such a reaction from the Nordsjaelland player.

Just reading through this thread and the discussion between yourself and Maxi, fair play to you KOTK. It's not often a poster admits that another poster's viewpoint may have been right and apologises. You are a top man.

I see a lot of views on here that astound me from time to time, but I genuinely cannot believe anybody would thing there was nothing wrong with this incident. An absolute disgrace' Don't know how that guy can look himself in the mirror. It's one thing cheating, but cheating in such an unsporting and blatant way is just disgusting. If that guy had've been on the end of a bad revenge tackle, he'd have deserved every bit of it. Classless piece of trash.
