Know what you mean lumba.
Wasn't Klopp appointed in a similar fashion to Rodgers? A relatively unknown manager with no "credentials" or experience? From Wikipedia : In his first season in charge, Klopp guided Borussia Dortmund to win the DFB-Supercup, defeating German champions Bayern Munich.[3] Klopp took the club to a sixth place finish in his first season in charge, and a fifth place finish in the season after that, before leading the club to successive Bundesliga titles in the 2010–11 and 2011–12 seasons. So a young, relatively unknown manager took some time to get his under performing side to consecutive championships? Why can't that work here?

Real progress was made in his first season though - from 13th to 6th + a cup win. To keep the fans and owners off his back he has to improve us this season...

Rodgers needed to get rid of his dross and bring in his players at bargain basement prices compared to KD. And after having got rid of that dross, spent 30 million on his own players, he is performing worse than KK. I've said along it is too early to judge, but he really needs to Buck (see what I did there !!) his ideas up sharpish. 30mil compared to what KD had is nothing. KD had all summer to prepare and he got worse, Rodgers wasn't as fortunate. Plus I think that with the 30 mil that Rodgers spent, he generally brought in better players than KD did with the money he had bar Suarez. The people kicking up a fuss as you call it, are the people who had pie in the sky ideas about where we could finish. Not the people who laughed off the notion of us finishing top 4. Thus they are not being hypocrites. Obviously that isn't true for every case, but it is true in general.

I definitely see overlaps in that theory from some of the users who've posted on this thread. Some of whom are using the topic as a stick to beat Rodgers with.

Not a lot of people with some degree of sense are asking for a top 4 finish, however, I think, for BR to prove himself, it's important he shows that he has improved over a season of under performance, ie, finish higher than 8th. Klopp, the then unknown manager, showed that he had something in him despite having no credentials by winning a cup and improving from 13th to 6th, then 5th etc. This is how you get people to believe in you, not by talking about a new philosophy and not getting results on the pitch. Of course, I think it's only fair to judge him at the end of the season but I cannot accept that our squad is weaker than 8th. Some people say that the number of internationals we have doesn't prove the quality of the players, but what does then? Some of our internationals play for good teams not the amateurs of San Marino etc. Examples are Johnson, Skrtl, Agger, Gerrard, Allen, Sahin, Leiva, Suarez who are full time internationals, then we have those who are/have been in the squad Reina, Jonjo, Sterling, Hendo, Downing (I know you'll tell me the last 2 are not good enough so be it and Leiva also was injured for a year now, you can take them out). We would still be better than Everton and Newcastle at least.

Agreed. I do believe our squad is stronger than 8th. I think IF we get in a new striker in January we can get 5th or 6th. I dont think Spurs will be as good as last year under AVB. Arsenal are the same Arsenal of the last couple of seasons very inconsistent. Newcastle and Everton are about the same strength maybe weaker than us we should have beat both. I dont think were under as much pressure as people are saying. Were a striker and Winger away from the top few in my opinion. And if Suarez keeps going like he is we'll be fine.
