What a difference a few years can make......
3 years ago we were the premier league runners up, our manager was a european cup winner and we hated our owners for not investing enough in the team...
Skip forward to today and people are debating whether finishing in the top half of the table would be acceptable or not! Some are slagging off the manager who finished 2nd in the league and took us to 2 european cup finals, whilst singing the praises of a man who has achieved absolutely nothing and is doing worse than our last manager - who was a disaster!
The mind boggles....
I'm a Rafa fan, but that bears no relevance to Brendan Rodgers for me. I think some people find it hard to distinguish between admiring a previous manager and supporting the current one. They think it's one or the other.
I'm 100% behind Brendan. I'm not even getting concerns about him just yet - while others are flying off the end of the scale with their sensationalism.
Some fans don't realise how good we had it under Rafa a few years ago, and those ones are usually the first to call him all the names under the sun. This is one of the most baffling things in the world to me. He got up to the top of the European ladder, and kept us there for a few years. He deserves eternal respect for that from ALL LFC fans, as far as I'm concerned. Not vile disrespect.
Anyway, Rafa's reign is a thing of the past, and while I strongly disagree with the stick he gets from some fans, Brendan is getting a lot of unfair abuse from some fans too. In my opinion, LFC are not in a crisis at the moment. I'd say we're probably doing worse than was realistically expected up to this point - but only just.
