we were more like last season on Sunday, generally solid, in control, creating chances ........but concede with pretty much the only shot of note against us.

early on this season the back 4 was like the keystone cops. Has it improved because of Brad? surely not

don't agree with Rodgers. He said we were outstanding today. We drew again. I'm so frustrated at the moment as an lfc fan. I dont want to hear thy we were outstanding when we drew at home to Newcastle.

Aimlessly optimistic. We are 12th. We should be winning at home. Realism is needed. I don't agree with people saying RODGERS OUT but I also don't agree with Rodgers saying we are making progress. Progress up the league please and then chat all you want. The real lfc fans will see through the [oops] over the top promo constantly coming out from the club. Enough is enough get on with the job and shut up before it's too late.

so because we're currently 12th we can't have a fantastic performance? yes rodgers talks alot, too much, and i wish he would shut up. but what rodgers said about the newcastle game was right we were brilliant we completely dominated a team who many except to finish above us, and we are at best as good as newcastle. and they did nothing for 90 mins, well that's a touch harsh; they were occasionally slightly threatening on an occasional counter-attack. imo it was our best performance of the season by a mile. first time for me, that we've looked some way comfortable in ourselves. we pressed much higher and to much better effect. this is a post of someone still living in peak rafa years. stop comparing us to something we're a million miles from. stop looking at the badge on the shirt and start realising who is currently occupying them. we aren't 'liverpool' anymore. like or not the name of this great club doesn't strike fear into the hearts of fans and players across the land anymore. newcastle came to anfield not only hoping to get a result, not thinking "if we're at our best and lfc have an off day we might get a drew" they came to anfield believing they could and would win. and they were sent home with a point they didn't on any level deserve. so yes it was a brilliant preformance. sadly it doesn't get to be called a win.

Yea ok so we shouldn't aim to win or expect to win now? You sound like the Americans. It will take time we are transition. Don't expect miracles over night blah blah blah. They don't want too spend big money so they got a young manager in who has to prove himself where as an experienced manager would demand more. The main issue here is that I'd take a 1-0 average performance WIN 38 times thankyou. It's not all about pretty football and Tiki taka. I love the wag we are trying to play and believe in the system with the right players. I actually have been impressed with the way we are playing so am I Erin to expect us to convert a win. No. on form we have been pretty good results wise and at home to Newcastle I expect us to win. Sorry I'm not as pesemistic as you

Not so long ago, with about the same squad bar Suarez who was serving his ban, we were outstanding winning 3-0. That was less than a year ago. Fact.

we should aim to win every game. but expecting to win against this newcastle team, is a bit -delusional would be too strong a word, but it isn't too far from it- newcastle are as good as us on paper. and we dominated and deserved to win. i completely agree with sentence in bold im actually not a fan of 'tiki taka' because it's just too much effort. as soon as your not perfect, your sh!t. as soon as the ball isn't moving at the speed of a hockey puck, your passing becomes laborious with no penetration. making you very easy to defend against. i love the type of football teams like man utd, real madrid and arsenal play at their best; fast, attacking, lots of movement, lots of penetration. i am not pessimistic, however i am a patient person. and like it or not our current situation requires patience from us fans.

No one is expecting miracles - why do people keep making that comment?!? The bare minimum should be that we finish no lower than 8th, as that it was what Ken was sacked for. 6th or 7th should be a realistic target for Rodgers. What would be so miraculous or unrealistic about that?

£150m spent on a squad that finished 6th less than 18 months ago should NOT be in the bottom half of the table no matter who is in charge. There can be no excuses for such dire results and I'm shocked that some people are quite happy to accept it.

Totally agree. I can't understand how some fans here can accept that we can suddenly become a bottom half club after that those same fans say that we underperformed last year, spent about 25m to improve the team without losing our best players, bar probably Bellamy (who could not really play 2 games in a row because of his knee). I am also shocked. Top 4 would most probably be over-acheiving but under 8th would also be under-acheiving.
