well if you are a proper fan stanley as you claim to be surely you will understand how daft a statement you have just made by saying to me in not so many words that if I am unhappy I should just walk away, if as you say you are a proper fan you know you cant just walk away just like you cant just walk away from other important things in life like family, religion or maybe politics, if something is that important to you and your life has revolved around it that long walking away is never an option, you claim to understand the City then you should know what a stupid statement you have just made to me knowing full well I am from the City.
well maybe thats because you are not a proper football fan of the city than stanley, not being disrespectful to you there because if you can switch yourself off so easily and just focus your attentions onto somthing else than you have never really been bitten by the footballing bug in the City, because I certainly could'nt no matter how unhappy or how much I disagreed with things within the club.
I think that explains quite a bit. You might want to consider a hobby, it might lift your spirits.

If we add 2-3 more top quality played then we will have a bit more depth and a stronger first 11 which would hold us in good stead!

I think we are all aware it won't happen straight away (getting back into the top 4) but we are building the foundations of a strong and successful club at he moment!
you wont get to the top just by building teams tho, this is my argument, not in this day and age, that sort of tactics used to work years ago, Forest did it from the second division, Villa did it in 81 and Everton did it in 85. People need to understand there was no Chelsea with Roman there or City with these Arab Billionaires, Manchester United were very, very lucky in that when they had the start of there success it was when the game was awash with money because the Premier League started in 93, United winning the first one, we in fact had our success at the wrong time financialy. Another thing people need to face is that even if we did manage to unearth a few decent players, the big boys would just come in and take them off us by offering them big trophies, untold riches and the chance of Champions League each season, we will never ever compete with that or be able to hang on to young players to build anything. I dont like the idea anymore than anyone else on here it's just that I accept that the whole footballing landscape would need to change for us to get back on a level playing field, even if it did it would also make Clubs like Newcastle, Everton, Spurs definately Villa and Leeds United who have infilstructure to also compete on level terms with us too making it even more competative.

what is the "top" ? is it being champions ? or just qualifying for the CL ? because in my opinion liverpool have had 3 title challenges since 1990 , 1997 was the closest for me as it was in liverpool hands with a couple of games to go , and 2002 and 09 when it wasnt , so what is top ?

No one here says its going to happen straight away and I think we all believe it may take a few years but as I said, saying NEVER is just unbelievable!
Who says the football landscape won't change? And if it does then you just don't know what will happen!
I totally accept we have fallen behind Citeh, Chelsea Manure on a financial level but it doesn't mean I have to stop being optimistic and believing that we can achieve success again in the future!

Of course you can walk away and I will do just that. I love Liverpool FC but if it gets too expensive or even stays as it is I may simply not have the money. Liverpool FC is important to me but in the prorities of life not even in the top three.
