I can understand Hernandez' goal being given in that the speed of the action and the fact that he came back into an onside position makes it difficult for a linesman to spot it in realtime but the Liverpool decision was just a shocking decision. Suarez was behind the ball as Coates nodded it down, behind at least 2 Everton defenders and wasn't running in behind play to cause confusion that way. It was truly a shocking decision and has cost us 2 points.

I don't think there's a conspiracy or anything but we have been on the receiving end of several decisions this year already

It looked like a foul by Coates to me and I expected the goal to be disallowed. At the end of the day, to come away with a point after being dominated so comprehensively isn't such a bad result. I don't think we played well enough to deserve all 3 points.

deffo no conspiracy. assistants bottled it. we need to control games better, especially at 2 up. if we know refs will give us nothing then we have to b prepared to win without their help.

Has it been confirmed that it was ruled out for offside?

No body knows what the reason was including the referee and linesman.

There should never have been a decison to make as suarez should have been sent off for an earlier tackle (on distin?). Maybe the officials were trying ot even things out?

I remember a time when you'd have to punch someone just to get a yellow card. That was obviously wrong but today's rules are also wrong. Somewhere in between would be ideal....where players are allowed to tackle without the fear of missing a few games just because they scuffed an opponents knee with their trailing diamond earrings. Pansies.

When did it become so over officiated? 5 years ago? 10, 15...?

A Chelsea team reduced to 9 men. The Torres decision was awful. He was clearly hit while on full run and got sent off for diving. He may have embellished it a little but no more than that [oops] Johnny Evans did when Shelvey got tossed. How can u send him off for that in a tie game of that magnitude knowing they were already reduced to 10 men. I know how because IT WAS IN THE PLAN.

And it was Jonny Evans yet again with Torres. He somehow came out of both incidents on the right side of the referee's decision.

Fergie's comments on Torres were very interesting:

"Did he intend to dive? He didn't choose to go on (running)," Ferguson told Sky Sports.

"I think Jonny may have just caught him a little bit, but you can either carry on running, which he could have done, but he chose to go down.

"He could have carried on and scored - that's what I don't understand. I would never have missed that chance to go through. I would have taken it anytime.

"I would never have gone down, but he did go down and that's the issue, and he's already been booked, so it's his own fault."

Unbelievable comments. Especially from a man who a short while back said in reaction to claims Ashley Young dived that, if there's even the slightest of contact on him, then he has every right to go down. A hypocrite of the highest order.

So you have to play well enough to earn the 3 points? How many times do top teams get dominated and scrape away with a win? Sometimes you don't deserve the points on the way you play but there is always a chance you can earn them either way and we clearly earned them against Everton but the linesmen [oops] us up.
