Don't disagree but the debt with gillet and hicks was not caused by overspending on players primarily. I believe the club was in a trading profit.
stanley, when Hicks and Gillette were in power we were Champions League regulars, this is not the case now, the point I am making is when you dont manage your finances you get into trouble, we are no longer in a position to buy players for 15 million pounds or give them 60 grand a week wages, not when you are now an established mid table Club, if we do spend out that sort of money it will come back and haunt us in about 2 or 3 years time. I can remember Rick Parry a couple of seasons ago talking about us missing out on Champions League qualification, he said we could get away with it for maybe another season or two before we would start to get into trouble well we are now three seasons going into four yet we are still buying players for 15, 20, 22.5 and 35 million pound and paying them all well over 60k a week wages all the time with not a hope in hell's chance of Champions League football returning now or in the future, something has seriously gotta give, it just cant carry on, be even worse when they start this redevelopment as there will be less money again for the team.
