Local Radio this morning saying "IF" all goes to plan the first spade smirk will go in the ground in 2014, the key word being IF, now we all know there are still people living in some of the houses whom they will have to compulsory purchase from so those people will as they always have had to fight tooth and nail against losing their homes,it only takes a hand full of home owners to put the plans back years, it seems we may be back at square one to me? frown

When Landsdowne road was redeveloped, 3 specific houses cost €12 million to buy and raise to the ground.

Those house owners have every right to fight for their homes especially if its a family home that's been handed down from a few generations. I'd definitely would not want to lose my 40/50 year old house so I can understand why they would say no or demand a very high price.

That's what everyone would do and no one can blame them. It is very frustrating though because again it could take for ever to sort it all out? its one long process after another.

Stanley, if the Club and council force people to sell there homes on these compulsary orders then that will alienate the local support, think that could be a recipe for disaster if that happens, why should anybody be forced into something they dont want, bit like when these big supermarkets kick people out of there homes and you see the name they get for doing it.

Anyone remember the old Kemlyn Road what is now the Centenary Stand (Although I still call it the Kemlyn being a an old git)

Anyway when they built the Kemlyn it was held up for years because of one old lady in a row of empty terraces and she would not move. Good on her I say. Its a family home who do these people think they are. And then there was that farmer on the M62 who would not budge and the M62 past saddleworth splits in two for about 5 miles to go around him heros them all.

think this could split the support a bit here stanley, this is a very emotional subject for local supporters, especialy when people could lose there homes.
