so whats the point of this thread?
to find out if the stat is true?
to compare the players?
to highlight the fact that your too lazy to check things out before posting?

He's probably trying to say that he's not as [oops] as some on here think.

Having said that though, how the hell does he miss so many easy chances and then score the spectacular?

As talented as Suarez is, he will never be put in the same class or catagory as Rush who was a lethal finisher.

Suarez aged 25:
117 goals in 213 games
0.54 goals per game

Rush aged 25:
153 goals in 258 games
0.59 goals per game

Fairly similar on the surface. But you can't really compare ajax, groningen, nacional and chester to gauge who has performed the best to date. The easiest way to do it is to look at goals/games in top flight english football:

Suarez:
27 goals in 58 games
0.47 goals per game

Rush 30 goals in his first 58 games
0.52 goals per game

(Overall: 346 goals in 660 games
0.52 goals per game)

On that basis Suarez is the better player. Suarez has far more tricks and technical ability and almost the goal return of rush who (although he harried defenders) was more of an out and out goal poacher. Plus much of Rush 's goal return was due to Dalglish. Imagine a Dalglish / Suarez partnership

A Suarez/Rush partnership would be much better.

Good job on the stats gathering. Not a lot in it there. They're completely different styles of players, I'd never have compared Suarez to Rush of all people. If he goes on to score half as many goals for us as Rush does, we'll be very lucky. He offers a lot more than just goals, but it's good to see him finding the net so many times this season so far - and moving some way to proving a few doubters wrong. He's still capable of so much more.
