Yeah Borini looked good, got into some decent positions and had the presence of mind to look up and find henderson to set up the shelvey goal.

Slightly dissapointed Yesil didnt get a run out though.

On a side note, does that first goal count as Downing getting his first assist for us?

What we have learned is that Borini should have scored. He missed a sitter when he should have tapped Coates header in!
Dont want to be negative but it was an easy chance!

Enrique is a liability and defensively naive. Get rid.

More proof that Carra is finished. Add to coaching staff ASAP.

Jones looked confident and competent.

Sahin is technically very good and has plenty of time on the ball. He is NOT a defensive midfielder.

Henderson looked ok but wants/needs too many touches & too much time on the ball.

Shelvey showed how much better he is in an attacking position. Has great potential to be very, very good.

Downing flattered to deceive - again.

Assaidi looked lively and promising.

Pacheco was very ineffective.

Suso better out wide but still needs to work harder. Talent is there, though.

Borini made some intelligent runs.

Wisdom had a good game. Very composed for a senior debut. Great goal.

Coates is a better footballer than Skrtel and better suited to BR's style but needs to toughen up a bit.

On the whole, a great result in a highly entertaining game. Good performance considering it was a young, experimental team. Defensive frailties worrying but at last WE have scored goals from open play.

Was thinking there that no one was going to mention Sahin, was very impressed, looked very calm on the ball, cant remember him putting a foot wrong.
Not going to echo what everyone else has said, was impressed with the young lads tonight. Hopefully they will get more chances throughout the year.
I think its only a matter of time before Borini starts banging in the goals, his movement was pretty good!
Carra looked off the pace, I'm not going to jump in and say hes finished, maybe just needs more game time...not that at this point in time we want him to be starting every week. Enrique should NOT be sold, christ..had a bad game and folk are wanting rid! He is trying to be too cute with keeping the ball, he will learn. Overall, plenty of positives. Roll on Sunday!

I think that's a bit harsh on him. If he had made contact he may have just pushed it onto the defender that was right in front of him. What he did was to put that defender off who started going the way the ball was and then checked up because of Borrini. He was just trying to glance it in, missed, put a defender off and it went in anyway. Good job in my eyes.

Agree with all of the above but only in the context of tonight's opposition.

@CarheeX I concur. You can only beat what's put in front of you but they weren't very good.
