Its a different ball game when you play united faz, am sure you know that. Even a team of superstars can lose against them as they have a much superior team with 3 or 4 deadly finishers unlike us who have nobody.

Maybe they showed endeavour as Brendan inspired them. Justy a thought he does seem to have that "walk in the room" command respect air about him.

was quite refreshing seeing a Liverpool team, looking hungry for the ball, eager to do well, chasing lost causes and a general positive mentality, think the worst player on the park was probably Downing who is the most experienced along with Carragher which says it all.

Dont think Downing was the worst. He got quite alot of decent balls in the box but no one was there to convert them

Jose Enrique was the worst player on park

Andre Wisdom, Henderson and Shelvey where most impressive

Downing puts lots of good balls in. Did last season too. It's not his fault no one is getting in there to receive them. No one gambles at the far post. No one in the middle. Even last season with Carroll he'd put in a cross and Carroll would be scratching his balls on the edge of the box!

Downing gets a lot of [oops] which isn't all deserved. He was pretty good tonight I thought.

As for the 'stars' on Sunday? I think they have a lot to live up to after tonight. Completely different level of team but they have to put in the same effort and desire. I think a few more of these youngsters will get a go in the league this year especially if they play like they did tonight.

i thought coates and wisdom performed for the back 4

Suso sahin actually held our midfield very well, they have the confidence and skill on the ball to make something happen, sahn possess passing ability and vision while suso seems to hold up the ball and drive into spaces taking on player.

as for the strikers asaidi was the only player that interest me, downing got into good positions but made ridiculous passes giving the ball away.

I love this team that played, it might not be a top quality team but the players played with conviction i cant remember the last time LFC went down and showed a levell of confidence to attack and get back in the game. I hope we build on this.
