If we don't get Owen, we're fairly f*cked. That's how I honestly feel about it. We've to go through 4 months as light up front as we are - and even then, there's no guarantee our club will pull their fingers out of their arse long enough to sign someone in January - after all, that's 2 consecutive windows they've failed to address the urgent striking problem.

Anyone who thinks Pacheco is the answer to our striking problems needs their head seen to. If Pacheco is given a chance - and I doubt he will be - but IF he is given a chance, he'll do what he's done all along for us: Fail. What he certainly won't do is bag goals for us - which is what we need.

Do we know that FSG let us down last January? From what I remember, kenny simply chose not to buy anyone saying he was mroe than happy with the squad.

If ever there was an opportunity for these lads to make a name for themselves its now so lets give them a go.

However, FSG would need to share future profits and may be they will not get the value they want in the current soft market. If we put pressure on them (noise, not buying merchandise etc), they might go for it.

I'm not interested in finger-pointing at individual for past mistakes. The fact is that the club have failed in 2 consecutive windows to address the striking problems. Whether that be the past manager, the current manager, Ayre, or FSG, whoever the blame lies with, the result remains the same, and a hattrick of failures is unthinkable but I wouldn't bet against it.

No, I'm not listening to him. I'm just addressing the most urgent problem - which is the fact that we are seriously in trouble with our lack of striking options. We may have bigger long term problems, but at the moment, this is the most urgent one. Finger-pointing isn't going to solve it, action is.

On a side note, FSG had apparently sanctioned £15-16m to sign Daniel Sturridge, but BR just wanted him on loan.
