I reckon Sterling might be rested anyway. If Carroll doesn't start then I reckon he has no future at the club and they are actively trying to sell him. Coates to get another run out as well I'd hope.

I definitely want coates to be given pitch time..he looked shaky at times on sunday...certainly will help him..

is coates ready to play 2 games in 3 days? because agger will be suspended against arsenal so he'll have to play against arsenal, wouldn't want him tiring in the latter stages of the arsenal game, much more likely to make a mistake. i would prefer sterling to play another 70ish mins against hearts -a team we know he could really hurt- and then come on against arsenal for the last 25mins when the game is a bit stretched and players are tiring.

It's just a one game ban. We were reluctant to appeal becuase it would have been doubled to a 2 game ban.
Anyway.. My Team would be
Riena
Kelly, Coates, Carra, Robinson
Henderson, Spearing, Adam
Downing, Carroll, Cole.
That's is Cole and Carroll are fit. If they are left out for any reason, They could be going...

I wouldn't risk Spearing if we're trying to sell him. Would rather promote suso for that. Same goes for Cole, maybe give Pacheco another run out

think we need to play a much stronger team than the first leg, due to Brendan's mistake or fielding the weak team in the first leg, this tie is still not over, I expect to go through but feel its going to be a battle, we may even pick up a couple of knocks before the Arsenal game on Sunday, England v Scotland games are always competative and this will be no different.
