Great post Stanley! There's definitely some positivity from the game as you mentioned.
I thought in the first half we played quite well aand were unlucky to be behind. Had we taken our chances we could have been at least 1 up if not 2 and the game then becomes totally different in the way it's played.

Problem is, once we went behind and a man down it was difficult to get back into it.

It's all about taking our chances and had we done that when were outplaying WBA in the first half most of the dooms dayers would be talking a different tune!

Hopefully it's a lesson learnt and we need to remain positive and understand it will take time so patience is required.

Just my thoughts.

Have to say Stan (and you touched on it in your OP) Reina looked better than any game I saw him play last season even though he conceded 3 goals

I agree! He conceded 3 but:

1st- Gera, no keeper would have saved it!
2nd- penalty, always tough! (and saved one)
3rd- Lukaku, Johnson was in his way and should have stopped it!

Also he made a great save towards the end which should have made it four.

I think Riena is in for a good year....here's hoping!

Positive..were making enough chances to win 2 games (yet again)
The fact we.missed them all will hopefully force us to buy another striker (we need 4) another positive of sorts

i thought Stans points were spot on. The clean break from Kenny(i am a fan) whether we agree or not gives us a real opportuniy to start totally fresh without compromise.

i thought we were in too much of a hurry to get the goal back on saturday and left ourselves exposed as it did several times last season. I think patience and belief in the system will grow throughout the season.

Kelly got stuck in two minds and Downing is mentally very weak. Gerrard was awful and should lead alot better than he does, Pepe was excellent atrying to bring composure.

remember Clarke knew these players better than Rodgers and by putting Lukaku on Carra broke our dominance. All in all for 50mins we looked a very good unit albeit fragile

what people make of hansens comments ,on motd, regarding BR's defensive set up. honestly i thought we looked all over the gaff, same as against gomel. and he won't get the players confidence if we ain't defending properly. hansen was right about nobody near Gera..

Dont think we can blame Rodgers for Agger & Skrtels ability to look like Laurel & Hardy upon times.

I couldn't get over the fact that they left the edge of the box clear especially after the first goal and they left it that way for the 3rd goal as well. It's a simple thing to rectify because I thought we defended the initial corners quite well throughout the game
