am i the only one happy that the club has a clear philosophy now?

There's more to a successful football club than a clear playing philosophy House, I too am happy with the philosophy, however a successful football club must compete against their competitors across the following three fronts: 1 on the pitch 2 revenue and 3 in the transfer market. weakness or failure to compete in any one of these three elements will adversely affect the other two. At the moment we are only partially competing on the revenue front with sponsorship and merchandising but not on gate receipts. We are not competing on the pitch and we are not competing in the transfer market.
Given that scenario finishing 8th last season and being beaten 3 - 0 (could have been more) by WBA in our first game this season should not be a major surprise to any of us. When FSG sacked Kenny at the end of last season I called on this forum for them to put their money where their scalpel was and give our new manager a fighting chance, they haven't done that, instead they prefer to 'manage our expectations' while they spend buttons on low to mid table players. It is not hysteria for fans to voice their concerns about what is going on and now is the time to let our feelings be known. I can remember us being beaten by more than 3 - 0 on the first day of a season before but taken in the context of all the circumstances today against the circumstances then, our situation now is much more precarious and in my opinion we should all be letting FSG know how we feel about their dismal efforts in the transfer market, and consequently on the pitch.

Sorry mate, I don't understand how it works. You say they are here for the long term, but, what I see happening in the very short term is LFC loosing its global appeal with mediocre results at the expense of other teams like Chelsea and City. Our brand value and revenue will go down drastically and we'll end up as a mid table team, not having the finances to compete. Not being in the Champions league (for 3 years) has hurt us big time and I unfortunately I do not see us coming back with the current structure. What our owners fail to understand is that winning trophies is the most important thing to keep the global brand going even if it is league cup or FA cup. Coming back to BR ,I would love him to do well, but, unfortunately I can't see this happening quick enough, if he wants to change our game completely (assuming he is next only to Pep G), it will take not only an awful lot of time but he will also have to change most of the team (and we do not have the money for that). He has to adapt our with the players that are going to stay (most of them are internationals for god sake, you cannot say WBA players are better) else we are doomed. I don't even understood why Clarke was sacked, was it just to have everything new and clean as a baby??? He said that he wanted to stay and even BR wanted him to stay at least at the beginning. I am lost, let's hope next few results can prove me wrong.
I agree with with what you say, we are struggleing to pay the money because of the vicious circle we are in, we do poor on the pitch we loose revenue, to do better on the pitch we need better on the pitch we need the money to buy better players. Football is so massive globaly that to be sucessful you need massive money at your disposal and we have not got that no where near the amount needed to compete. BR is a good coach with the right ideas, but his problem lies in the squad and their inability to carry out the coaches ideas. Those overpriced players that we won't buy are not over priced it's because we can't afford them so the team with the money buys them without a blink of an eye because they can afford them!.

Agree. You won't see the effect of Rogers plans till mid-season. That's when things should really kick in. I can see us finishing in 4th - 5th place.
