I explained why in the rest of that post as to maybe why people would.

Why do I keep hearing about Bradley Wiggins? Just because your in love with the man and team GB, doesn't mean everybody else has to be. And who cares if he supports Liverpool? Big deal, does that elevate your importance if you do? I don't see why I should follow somebody because he follows something I just so happen to follow.

He rides a bike and won the tour de france, woopedy do! Gotta be fit to do it, unless your not juicing, give him that, but I ain't gonna bow down to him, just like he aint gonna bow down to me.

I wonder if he could do some of the hard graft we have to do? The downtrodden, the hopeless, the people that this country REALLY relies on?

Of course, same for Suarez.

And why have people been more behind Uruguay and Luis Suarez?

I did provide reasons, but it looks like you ignored them.

fazakerley, you wasting your time, your talking to people who are picking a team like Uruguay to support much in the same way as they chose Liverpool Football Club to support, no difference, they have no real affiliation with Uraguay just like they have no real affiliation with Liverpool Football Club, this is why it's best not to bother, there support is based on a whim.

All support is based on a whim when you are a child there is an event that leads you to choose a team. Even if you live in Liverpool it can be Liverpool or Everton or Tranmere. I was brought up in cheshire it could have been one of five local teams I supported. But in any event who cares a damn how you choose to support the fact you do is what matters.
