Is he ever going to get another shot? Everyone was excited about him a year or two ago, but I haven't really heard anything about him lately. He seemed like he had a lot of promise.

He should be. You don't come through at Barca if you don't have something.

While were at it, we should get Tom Ince and Gerardo Bruna back from Blackpool.

They can have Charlie Adam back, free of charge.

Haha yeah, I though Ince had potential. Not sure about Bruna, but I didn't see much of him.

I started thinking about Pacheco when I watched that video of Suso sparkling at the U19s...Because Pacheco basically made his name in the same tournament 2 years ago, winning the golden boot.

I had basically written off Pacheco - so I don't know whether to conclude from this that maybe the U19s aren't a very good barometer and we should play down our expectations of Suso off the back of it, or that maybe we should have higher hopes for Pacheco like we do for Suso.

Should be said that in everything I've seen of Pacheco he's never looked as good as Suso. But still, he's only 21 and if he learnt his game at Barca one would think he must be someone Rodgers can use. If he's not given a chance this season then I think he must not be good enough and we can close the file on him. But for now the file is back open...

Everyone except benitez, hodgson and dalglish who between them, have given him 0 minutes pitch time in the league. All hype and very little else - he's the new anthony le tallec.

What you're failing to take into account is the player's age. When Benitez left Pacheco was 19 - he was hardly going to be first team yet. And actually he has played for Liverpool in the league, he had his debut under Rafa and some more minutes under Roy.

Who knows what Rafa would have done with him? I don't think the argument "Roy and Kenny thought this" is particularly powerful myself...

4 games!?!? I think not - wiki must be mistaken. He possibly made 1 or 2 appearances as a sub though. I'm 100% certain he has never been trusted with a league start for us though. His contract must be up soon - it seems like he's been with us for a long time and I doubt he's done enough to have earnt a new one whilst he hasn't been playing for us.

I doubt it, he seems like a 'not sure where to play him player'. Especially in what we all expect to be BR system. Hasn't ever lit anything up but the reserve league and a couple of youth spain matches. He will go back to spain soon.

Feels more like a Florent Sinama-Pongol to me.

I liked the look of the kid in the odd appearance he made for us: lively, good movement, unselfish, good passer of the ball... didn't stand out, just kept it simple..

I wouldn't be unhappy if he was bought back into the squad at all - could be worth giving him a little time under the new regime.

Coulda sworn Barca were very reluctant to let him go in the first place, they were also looking at taking him back well before LFC started throwing him on loan, when he was playing reserve football. Real Madrid were also reluctant to let Gerardo Bruna go also although he seemed a bit light weight.

I don't believe Le Havre were so reluctant to let Pongolle and Le Tallec, no, money spoke that time.

And I still believe both could have been decent if they had been managed better by somebody less robotic with more modern ideas.

Houllier signed them but Rafa destroyed a lot of players that could have been good. But he did make some to, he was right about Lucas in the end.
