well if we are going on the basis that you cant be rivals because we dont challenge them then United are not rivals to us.

yea id respond to that if it made any sense.

well people are saying because Ireland are so far below England they cant be serious rivals, well going on that the same has to apply to Liverpool and United.

Not sure that any of this has anything to do with football really has it Ian.

i would say ireland are a rival to england and have been down the years they are 18th in the ranking and if 41st place scotland are then certainly so are ireland .

well nearly all your players play or have played in the premier or championship league so i think they are rivals , now i have been backing ireland for years wanting ireland to do well, but facts are facts they have been woeful and it not me making roy keane out to be a load of cr@p that the irish supporters have , no dont tell me if england had gone on out losing every game you wouldnt laugh at england , and say hodgson is a joke etc etc , i cant believe how touchy the irish supporters have been .

when the statuntons,aldridges,houghtons and whelans played for ireland i wanted ireland to win same with spain , but there is no liverpool interest in the irish team but a massive one in the england squad even off the field with some of the LFC staff been drafted into the england team so COME ON ENGLAND
