I think it's been more like delusions of grandeur in the past with England for some reason,personally the last time I thought we'd actually win anything was in 1990 but ever since then I think we've learnt to except how average we really are. I thought hey had a good chance in 96. True Raf,how could I forget El Tel.
That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

the thread says english arrogance , but i believe if england had have been as bad as ireland or the netherlands , it would have been lets all laugh at hodgson etc etc etc , well england and roy have done ok progressed well unlike ireland who were dreadful to say the leasts . hey fazakerley, its funny seeing how Roy doing well is upsetting a few on here, they are getting proved wrong in that Roy was'nt as bad as he was made out to be.

Not sure why your man red4life and faz have against Ireland. Not surprised at red4life but very surprised as faz's obvious malice towards Ireland.
I for one am supporting England in the tournament. As I already said, 6 Reds and an ex manager. I hope they go far.

Liverpudlians against the Irish. Wonders never cease. The most amazing thing about it is that none of the Irish posters were even calling the English arrogant. The thread had nothing to do with the Irish whatsoever. A couple of posters just decided upon an assault on the Irish for whatever reasons. Deflection or defensiveness, I suspect.

Yeah have to agree with you Bar, surprised at Faz, he's normally fairly even handed. Seems to have got caught up in the whole "We won our group we are going to win the Euros":( see title of thread) Why some of the English lads seem obsessed with putting the boot into the Irish is beyond me. It's not like the English to pick on the Irish

AAAH! take no notice of the misery's putting down the irish,they are our neigbhours and we can can cheer them on especially seeing as lots of us scousers have irish in the family anyway. it is plain miserable not to support them. BA HUMBUG!

It's not like the English to pick on the Irish Why do we have to like the Irish football team, all thats been said is that there a p!ss poor outfit and are the worst team in the competition, theres no lies there. There is no reason why we cant put the boot in to the Irish team if we like just like we can if it's Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Argies or Germans they are seen by English football fans as footballing rivals for whatever reasons. I just think some of these Irish fans on here need to have a good look at themselves and stop being so touchy, English fans on here know full well if it was the England team who were embarrassing themselves over in Poland and the Ukraine the Republic of Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland fans would all be lapping it up and dont forget this afterall is an English teams football forum.

dont forget this afterall is an English teams football forum. owned by americans, made up of mostly foreign players, financed mostly by foreign fans. up the BNP. lay the boot into ireland all you want, i havent seen any irish on here being touchy. you just like having a go at the foreigners because thats the kind of old timer you are. thankfully the world is moving on without you.
