He was at least an 8.5 Caused havoc in the last third, chased down, held the ball up well and distributed it well to fellow attacking team mates, defended well. Went for full 90 mins. If he had not been instrumental in the build up which saw Welbeck head wide and he had been on the end of the cross he would have scored another. He needs to start on Tues alongside Rooney.

Oh and the best defender on the pitch was Glen so that is another one of our boys having a good game. Think you were a bit harsh Car with your comments. Felt sorry for Cole as Young had a stinker and Cole was always out of position when Young cocked it up

Crying out for Downing or Oxlade on that left wing instead of young who was everywhere but on thewing

I think Carheex was there or thereabouts with the 7/10 mark. Nobody but Walcoot stood out and the positive element is AC is now regularly putting in solid performances of the 7-8/10 mark. Baring in mind he averaged less than 5/10 for most of the season thats quite a leap in performance. He can only come back stronger and more valued after this experience, which is great for LFC.

keegan never scored more than 13 league goals in a season for us, his contribution i am sure you would agree was far greater than that though. Carroll will never be prolific but can certainly be a great asset, so goals are not necessarly what he should be judged by, a bonus that they are.

But it's not though. Teamwork will keep you in the side...that's what managers are after these days. Every player has a responsbility to defend and attack as a unit - having an attitude of "i'm only here to put the ball in the net" won't get you far -especially if you only managed it 4 or 5 times for your club in the whole of last season!
Don;t get me wrong, he is looking better but my original argument was a counter to someone who said he was 'outstanding', when he really wasn't.
