word is that all existing season ticket holders have been sacked. This is in line with the policy to rid the club of all links with the Dalglish/Comolli/Hodgson/ debacles. The club will be conductiing an extensive search for persons whom they feel are share their philosophy for the club going forwards and hence would deserve to hold a season ticket. Koptalk members need not apply apparently (as advised by the think tank that is helping them conduct the search) Sounds good to me. I can think of a lot better things to spend £780 on.

You season ticket holders don't know how good you have it until you lose it. A lot of moaning and rumbling but at least you get to enjoy a match day in a bloody stadium. What you pay is a bargain if you ask me. Seriously I am thousands of miles away from Anfield, I don't even experience that match days yet I still fork out 70 quid a month for my subscription. I never watch anything on it, only footie so basically 95% of it waste. 70 x 8 months which is a season basically is over 500 quid. Watching at home with my crappy television for 500 quid a season. Stop moaning loyal season ticket holders.

good point actually snake....some people dream to have a once in a lifetime chance to go to stadium n see LFC play I appreciate what you are saying but a few years ago going to the game was a way of life. People went year after year with their families or friends. Now it’s a few die hard’s like me. The club are losing that core following. Now many of the visitors to Anfield are like you say the "once in a lifetime" people normally on package deals. I see the same at Old Trafford after a Utd game when I am shopping in Manchester shopping you see people who have obviously been to the game clutching a souvenir bag. Quite a few times last season after going to Anfield coming out of lime street gangs of very well behaved LFC lads (obviously not English then!) normally Korean, Japanese, Chinese clutching souvenir bags and off to hotel in Manchester. What’s wrong with that? Nothing that’s the way it is and I have had many decades of following the reds all over Europe and I don’t care if I never go again I have had my time. I will be priced out eventually and many before me already have been. The concern for me is the tourism fan will not fill the stadium week after week especially mid week games. I think it’s a problem with all the top clubs and eventually I think there will be a crisis you cannot keep ramping up player’s wages and passing the cost onto the fan particularly in today’s economic landscape. In a few years the top clubs may find themselves playing in front of 25k or so.

In a few years the top clubs may find themselves playing in front of 25k or so. spot on, my first season ticket cost £65 back in 1988(16yr old) and tickets then were about the same price as a cinema ticket baring in mind you are seeing a 2hr show it fits. In fact through time this was always the case. With tickets now averageing at Anfield about £40 a game and cinema tickets roughly £7-8 it is not hard to see where the problems lie and the inevitable will happen. Through the 80s as a teenager I was able to queue and get in for £2 with gates opening at 1pm, I cannot see how any budding young Liverpool fan can attend these days.

Good Post Stanley, pity common sense is wasted on here, they will never understand how a die hard fans mind works, wish I could treat going to the match like a fun day out like alot on here seem to think it is.
