I have come to terms with keeping Carroll for another season. His last 3 games he played really well and he was decent in his England outing. I mean obviously he is never going to be world class, he has massive limitations. But it isn't beyond the realms of possibility with the right people around him he will get 20 goals a season, and contrary to popular belief swansea's big man up top made over 30 appearances last season scoring 12 (around that anyway) goals.
i would still prefer a world class striker obviously. Because we need world class players, which Carroll is not (and in my opinion never will be), but Carroll has shown that if he isn't playing every game he isn't worth having because he 'needs a run' as he and people on here like to say a lot, to get any kind of form out of him. So if we bought a new striker in we'd have to sell him, and I think Carroll has a bit more to show us. Now isn't the time, but maybe next season, when we can reflect again on how he has performed, having had more than enough time to show us what he can do.
