Good appointment, he does need time though. I hope to god he gets it. 1 season no matter what result, and then act midway second if it's still terrible.
I like FSG, I think they are here for the long term, and building for the future- with a young team, and young manager.

He has to be given a full season. Good idea to appoint him now instead of later in the summer. I'm excited to see who he thins is LFC quality. Also, wonder which Swansea players he will be bringing with him...

Good shout Stanley , personally I only think we're two players shy of an half decent side , preferably winger and striker of quality I should add. If he tries to implement his possession game we can crack on n move forward I think. Still believe we haven't seen the best of Suarez n Carroll , add to the equation a quality winger NOT Downing and we're not a million miles away.

he's going to have to bring in some players to really implement his style.
the formation he seems to play is a 4-2-3-1 but its fluid and can be a number of different formations, 4-3-3 / 4-5-1.
his philosophy of keeping the ball is good for the club, its the way the best teams in europe play. something the club has lost since its glory days.
for his style to be effective i think we certainly need to improve that front 3. swansea had pretty deadly wingers in dyer down the right flank and sinclair cutting in from the left. danny graham is a effectively a target man so theres no reason why andy carroll can't be implemented into his system. i can also see him using suarez out wide on the left cutting in. i think he's quite a dynamic player who could be effective from that position. also something quite exciting to think about... this is raheem sterlings natural position. hopefully its time for the lad to step up as i think he can shine under the right manager.
then theres the central midfield 3. all seem to be very good passers of the ball in his swansea side. the more advanced role that gylfi sigurdsson filled will be the hardest to fill unless we can prize him away from swansea before his medical (which seems to be the longest one in history so far). he chipped in with a lot of goals from midfield for the swans which for £6.8m is a complete steal for area in which we are lacking. gerrard could also play that role as he has done in the past but i'd prefer to see him drop back a little and be more creative from deep with lucas doing most of the harrying.
i think he's a fantastic young manager who can help mould some of our young players. hopefully he can get henderson playing well and help shelvey out too. i think we'll need a creative midfield player too. lets face it unless he makes a huge improvement this season, charlie adam just isn't good enough.
we are for the time being at least, fine at the back. some competition for enrique's place in the side would be nice so he knows he has to perform well to keep his place. or are jack robinson/danny wilson ready to step up?
something else to think about are the 2 players returning to the club. aquilani and joe cole who would be naturally suited to the new managers system imo. interesting.
still think maxi, kuyt should go along with aurelio, spearing and adam.
another striker, possibly a young player a natural, pacey right winger someone to play in the attacking midfield role and a creative midfielder

Suso & Raheem will get lots of chances(May not be in PL). Rodgers appointment very very good news for the academy players as they are already into this style of play.
FSG definitely will try to get rid of Kuyt,Maxi & Cole for their wages compare to what they are offering. May be Aquilani too.
For Uruguay Suarez attacks from the rite. So he may use him there or in hole.

4-2-3-1 is an excellent formation. The 2 holding midfielders can both support attack and help defend without compromising their positions. For a 4-2-3-1 formation to work, your 2 holding must be exceptional all rounded players. But a manager needs to be versatile enough be be able to deploy other formations effectively in different situations. Holding the ball to relieve stress and holding the ball going forward are 2 very different situations. I've liked what I've seen of Brandan's teams and am hopeful.
I am only responsible for what I write. Not for what you understand.
