well its a different country for a start, with a different league and a different national team, plus it operates under british government. not exactly picky is it. we cant claim him in the republic if he had nothing to do with our football system.

tbh i dont like claiming him. northern ireland doesnt have much to show for itself, and years ago it used to drive me nuts when english commentators used to claim our boxers and athletes as "british", so cudo's to the north. lol isn't that situation like with Andy Murray, he enters tournaments as the British hopeful, and exits as the Scotsman.
