When all the big deals are done and a manager is named we can start to pick over who might actually come to us. But if all they want is immediate CL football then they are not the right players for us.
I am gutted that the likes of Mata and Torres won CL winners medals because they chased after Chelsea like Hazard seems to have done.
Had Chelsea got turned over they would have been in a far worse position than we have ever been in.
All I can wish for is that we get a hungry manager with even hungrier players and a desire to win that is higher than the desire for a multi million pound contract.
Unfortunately it's never going to happen tho is it, players nowadays either want Champions League footy or money with the top, top players wanting both and a real chance of winning the big trophies, we cant offer anything like that.
I think the only thing we can say we have going for us is that we are a famous Club, problem is that the players today were barely born or were not old enough to remember when we were one of the big clubs so it's hardly likely they will sign.
I think the players we can attract might be players like when we signed Torres or Suarez at the time players who needed a Club as a next stepping stone from where they where just before they signed for one of the big boys, this could be the market we could maybe look at.
