I get the feeling it's Rick Parry who's got the ears of the owners

Question is ... do we have a right to know?

Of course we have a right to know, this isn't some secret society, it's a football club. No other clubs fans don't know who's making the decisions for there club.

With every day that goes by and I hear [oops] about Martinez and Rodgers the more I don't like this 'Think Tank'

I know what you're saying... but they're just advising... the owners and the board ar making the decisions

... and they can't tell the fans without telling the world... which might only ccause trouble for the club... hence it's a tricky one.

If they need a 'thinktank' to help them make decisions then they're in the wrong sport - that just tells us they don't know what they are doing and need help. Sadly, 'help' has arrived in the form some goons who think RM should be our 1st choice! I'm trying to be positive and i'm still delighted that they sacked comolli/dalglish but i can't see a lot to be positive about at the moment. They still want a DoF despite no english club ever being succesful with one.

i think its fair to say we are the most impatient fans in the world. The owners realistically havent been in that long. They gave into the fans originally and appointed Kenny, they gave him a season and a half and evaluated the whole club as a business and football club and have obviously got some experts in football to bounce ideas off aka the think tank. Im glad they are conducting a thorough search for a new manager obviously the owners have ideas and a plan to get the club successful again so why cant we just give them the time to bring these ideas into action? at the end of the day we havent won the league for 20+ years whats another 1 or 2 years gonna do? if we have the foundations set to keep challenging... just remember hicks and Gillett who would you rather have??

Carhee, I am rather unclear about the DoF position as well. The manager dictates all tactics and strategy. If the manager decides he needs a certain type of player and identifies someone and the DoF then handles all negotiations and the related administration to bring that player into the club, then that is a good division of responsibilities. The manager keeps his focus on what he does best and the DoF likewise. Certainty the DoF can discuss and suggest players but he cannot dictate. The manager must have the last say on players. To allow the DoF control over players and transfers over the manager is foolish and a recipe for disaster. But I am sure FSG understands this and would set clear lines of responsibility. I feel if the two can work together and have a common goal, it could be very positive.
