I can understand how rafa has not been able to go and fork out £80m for a Ronaldo type player, However, he has had cash every season. By and large he seems to have decided, season after season, to bolster the number of squad players rather than concentrate on finding fewer better quality players.

I know there is huge debate about how much the net spend works out at, how he has to sell to buy etc, but as far as I can see he has bought 60 odd players in over his time, spent hundreds of millions of pounds and yet we are in a situation where we are totally stuffed because our one decent striker is injured, and yet have sold in recent years Bellamy, Crouch and Keane, we have a £17m player sitting on the bench and not even given a 10minute run out in case he gets injured, and because we are saving him for a nonsense of a game in thee CL,

The majority of our players would not make the first team in any of our main competitors, and now we have some fans who are saying it is ok we did not manage a win against Blackburn because at least we kept a clean sheet!

It's madness

I voted Yes. My mind might change when he is backed properly by the owners and doesn't have half of his frist team regulars out with injury for most of this season.

If we still don't egt the results after that, then yes by all means he then deserves to be sacked.

So what your saying is no manager can be judged until he has been given unlimited money to bring in whoever he wants, this means O'Neill, big Sam, David Moyes, Owen Coyle and Phil Brown cannot be judged on wether they are good enough either because like the waiter they have not been given what Chelsea and United have spent either.

I'm not saying he needs unlimited funds, that would make any manager win the league. Except Hughs of course. What I'm saying is if he has given his choices for the players he wants to buy and they're a little more expensive than the owners are willing to spend then they should trust his judgement and back him. Also if he sells a player for 30mil. that money should be made available to him

i've backed rafa on the transfer issue for a long time and i still don't think he's been handed the funds to compete with united and chelsea. but i have to agree with emp, the transfers over the last two years has just been a waste of money. if the reports are true we had the chance to get negredo and/or sneijder/vdv in the alonso deal and i have a real hard time understanding why rafa rejected tehm. aquilani has missed half the season so it would have been better with sneijder. and we absolutely need another striker and negredo would have been perfect back-up.

well this has been a useless debate of late.

provided enough money,
not provided enough money.its a crap debate to me.

ok have all the money of the world,(MAN SHITTY) ,,still if Mark Hughes is not able to win then what would one make of all the money spent.

this is a useless debate just to say Rafa has not been backed enough..let him take good share of this all I say.why is he fecking sitting on the hot seat if he has not enough money or he isnt able to content with limited money and hunt some talent down on cheap??

he has lost it now

well for all the people saying rafa has been backed properly by the owners and has spend enough money i hope you will all be satified when we stay spending so little and see clubs like spurs villa and sunderland out spend us, but its ok if they do casue rafa has spend loads!!!!
i honestly cannot see anything changing with a change of manager, and i thing we will easily make the top 4 this season, which is all our wonderfull owners want and all the y invest for they will never invest the extra funds necessary to turn us from a top 4 team to title winners
