Di Matteo is good with a team that is already made, not very good at buying players, which is what chelsea need considering there team is dying of old age, and we need some class brought into the team and I don't think he could do that

Trust me, players all around the world are going to take notice and want to play for him. He won 2 big trophies for them this season, if I was a player he would be the type of manager I would want to play for.

pot kettle black Mr Prophet, you are citing someone for a silly comment, and then in another thread, you said you wanted to sign gomez for liverpool but after tonight not anymore. so one game eradicates his previous fifty? I now know you wont be in the running to replace kenny
I will listen, only if your answer contains wisdom

Chelsea are an immense side in pretty much all areas of the field. They could easily get away with two younger players in now and maybe two more next year. You talk like everyone in the team is 35. That is exactly where Souness dropped the ball all those years ago and ironically AVB would have too. Thankfully he could only drop players before he was fired out not sell them. There is no panic to replace just add a couple as Ferguson has done time and again, and will no doubt do in the coming weeks. I'd also hazard a guess that Chelsea's league form since DiMatteo came in was up there with anyone's.

Under Rafa at least we created 3 whole chances to score 3 times in the CL final! We weren't entirely camped out in our own half either. We never had to weight to the 87th minute for our first bloody corner and we didn't have concede over 35 odd shots on our goal. And apart from Shevchenko smashing the ball into the magic finger tips of Dudek it wasn't a complete landslide. Secondly it was damn fun to watch for the neutrals, unlike the last 3 dull and dreary Chelsea matches in the competition.
To be honest If we won EVERYTHING playing Mcleish-style football I would go and watch someone else. This is why Rafa's penultimate season where we finished 2nd was one of my favourite seasons in the past 15 or so years. We were WONDERFUL to watch. All out attack. Guns blazing. I remember the Arsenal games where we drew 4-4 and Arshavin put 4 past us . . . it was like two heavy weights slugging it out . . . good old fashioned power, passion and precision. Not this wretched, in the trenches bollox Chelsea played last night. LOOK AT THEIR PLAYERS and tell me they didn't stand a chance to play some football against Bayern. If those tactics were picked again. And they played again. Gomez would have put them out if sight in the first half. Ditto Barcelona. THAT IS WHY Di Matteo is one lucky son of a gun AND WHY if he is kept on next year they will be utter rubbish. So I hope they keep him.

Silly comments. RDM might have got away with it tonight - but against Barca he did what he had to do and what any manager would have done. He deserves a crack at the Chelsea job. I agree, I get annoyed when fans say Chelsea won it by putting 11 men in their own box, its a tactic and quite frankly the only plan to beat Barcelona. As for RDM, he doesn't fill me with confidence over a 38 league season, we need good results and I am not sure he can get us across the finish line in 4th or above. Similar situation with Martinez and Rodgers, very unproven and risky.

I like the fella but I think he'll be sacked by Xmas if he gets the job. He did nothing better than AVB apart from win the cups (he had the good end of the season I suppose). Chelsea in the league were sixth when he took over and finished in the same place.

Just strengthens position by position, does not overhaul the entire team, the reason why his teams have longevity and never very weak at any given time.
