did the club melt down, or did raffa get too much control? i certainly remember it being both. It probably was a bit of both, but he stood up to the 2 cowboys who almost ran our club out of existence, and I think we should all be eternally grateful to him for that, not use it as a stick to beat him with Well said!

i think everyone got sucked into a downward spiral and everyone contributed to it in the end. i just feel that bringing him back will bring some of that back with him.
and i just cant bear him never taking the blame or admitting mistakes. and why the hell did he stop playing that crazy attacking football where we destroyed everyone? jackass.
Luis Garcia, He drinks sangria He came from Barca, to bring us Joy He's five foot seven, he's football heaven please don't take my Luis away.

Whatever your views on Rafa he gave us some great players and some great memories. He also turned my little girl into another Reds fan thanks to that night in Istanbul.

KP nostalgia and club history and very close neighbours.
Who do you think will end up in the job.
I really don't have a clue at this stage.

I share those very same concerns, flames, but I think he poses no greater of a gamble than AVB or Martinez, and personally I think Rafa is the gamble most worth taking.

Have to disagree with you there Bar... and wonder at your blinkers somewhat. Rafa is the biggest risk of all because it means going back to a failed regime, a stubborn and irksome personality, an egoist that does not like to share power or work as a team, and someone who does not fit the FSG profile whatsoever. He's also been ineffective for some time now - and every league programme but one was done by January. We sacked Dalglish for poor league performance - so it's ludicrous to go back to a man that failed six times as many times as Kenny has done. With all due respect, KP, I've acknowledged both the good sides and bad sides to Rafa in many threads - which is more than I can say for your good self. So as far as being blinkered, goes, you should look closer to home - or at least try learn to hear out what other people are saying. If you don't like Rafa, fine. But you need to calm down and stop getting annoyed because some do. Also, what constitutes "failure"? Kenny's objective was CL qualification - Rafa did this in 5 of his 6 seasons.

Don't take it personally mate. I love Rafa - honour his time at Liverpool. But he's not the man to lead us forward. I know all the positive arguments but they are outweighed by the negative. A new face with ideas could potentially mean winning the league... Rafa means being an also-ran. Ever since he's left, I've wanted him to return at some point in the future - my benchmark was always when Stevie retires. At least part of me still thinks it's too soon, and I still have all the same doubts there about him, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want him - and above all, the primary reason is that I genuinely don't see any better contenders at the moment. AVB? Martinez? I just don't know. Of course, I'd give my full backing to either of them, if they're appointed, and I have warmed to the idea of both of them, since the initial links, but I'm not sold on either of them completely at the moment.

He achieved a higher league finish in each of those seasons than Dalglish has achieved last season and with approximately one fifth of the transfer funds per transfer window. Perhaps you should consider that, remove your Kenny coloured specs and for 5 minutes, just be realistic. It seems to me sometimes like you have an almost unhealthy obsession with both Kenny and Rafa, just in 2 very different ways.

AVB/RM will do better job then Rafa in my opinion, if they get the job. AVB failed in Chelsea because of the senior players. I don't think it will be a problem for him to bring in the changes in LFC.. Rafa/AVB having better chances of attracting stars compare to RM.
