Just thinking about the squad he new manager will inherit.

Bear in mind it seems very clear Dalglish was sacked because of failure to get Liverpool in the champion’s league. It’s also clear FSG want and need Liverpool to be there sooner rather than later for commercial reasons and the FFP rules. Realistically that means we need a proper tilt at it this season coming or at the very very worst season after. There has been a big investment in the squad in 2011 already. My question is are the foundations for such a campaign already in place or does the squad need substantive rebuilding to ship out some of the dud 2011 signings and deal with the aging players and those who want out?

My feeling (but welcome views) is given we need to hit the ground running we need stability in the squad but the signings we made are simply not good enough. So my feeling is moderate signings short term but major wholesale changes over the medium term maybe next close season.

What do youse all think?

i think everyone needs a run out under the new manager first.
all our players have ability, but a new manager might just develop that and get an 11 that clicks a little better.

deffo need a quality midfielder alongside lucas and gerrard

and a striker to compliment carroll and suarez

downing deserves another chance (don't all kill me at once)

right winger also needed.

I will listen, only if your answer contains wisdom

We need 3 or 4 signings of quality, not necessarily world class. Mainly just to bulk up the midfield and attack

Yes I tend to agree Flames may just the signings we would have made (maybe) under Dalglish goalpoacher, right mid etc. But therefter I think we need to spend big again.

I don't think this squad is champions league quality in terms of sustaining it although they might do a newcastle with the right manager.

Competition for left back. Enrique was poor.
A defensive midfielder for cover
Right winger as we don't have one
A striker for competetion,

I hope he brings sterling through,
