I would love to be able to say this:
"Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique, Gerrard, Suarez and 5 other players will be enough to beat any team in a cup game".
Not sure I can say that, but a full-strength back 4 with Gerrard and Suarez as the attacking force is probably the best we can do at this stage. Whether we play Carroll, Downing, Maxi, Kuyt, Henderson or whoever in goal is largely irrelevant because none of them are the key figures in this team right now. We have our first pick back 4, we have our captain, and we have our playmaker.
It's different to what I suggested earlier, but I'm tempted to pick Downing on the right and Maxi on the left with Spearing or Henderson partnering Gerrard in midfield behind Suarez and Carroll. 4-4-2 and just have a go at their back 4. Kuyt and Bellamy on towards the end of the game, especially if extra time looms - Bellamy for pace, Kuyt for penalties. I'm always worried about Tim Cahill though, and I don't think anyone other than Lucas is able to keep him quiet.
And no, people, Bellamy will not start ("may not start consecutive games", it says in his contract I believe).
