unbelievable recovery alright. I honestly did not expect him to pull through. All the medical staff on the pitch that night cannot be thanked enough for keeping him going.

Regarding playing again, doubtful. His heart will be scarred and weak after this event, and a possibilty, given his now known condition, he may have to get an internal defibrillator to monitor the heart and correct any abnormal heart beat rhythms.

As mentioned above, this man has proven me and I'm sure many others wrong with his speedy recovery.

One step at a time Fabrice

I thought he was going to stay dead; his heart was without oxygen, we're told, for between 60 and 120 mins, despite numerous jump-start attempts, and although I had hardly heard of him before the incident, I'm damned glad he seems to have come through.

Amazing how all prejudice goes out of the window when one of the 'family' is seriously hurt.

Well done, chap! My family is praying for a complete recovery...

Most excellent that he seems to be recovering well, but so sad for the lad if this is really going to be the final outcome for him.

all things considered he should spend the rest of his days enjoying every breath and everyday with his family. he was under for 78 minutes? not many come back from that never mind coming back without being severely brain damaged or any real physical problems.

i couldnt watch him play football again growls, id be watching through my fingers everytime he ran.

this is a great article. i wish muamba all the best. hope the lad recovers well. in terms of the media and the coverage of fans support is a bit OTT. fans hoping that an opposition player doesn't die is hardly a healthy moral benchmark for us all to live by. see below
