I do indeed. Read it again. smile

We will have to read it quite a number of times before it gets to the bit Kenny gave Fowler his debut against Fulham. I was there that night my memory must be playing up maybe I am getting old.

Okay, I'm gonna hold my hands up here and apologise - I misread the original post - I missed the part where the guy said Kenny gave Robbie his debut. He clearly didn't, that was Souness alright. Kenny was in charge though, when Robbie came to the club, and Fowler told the story of how as a youngster, Kenny gave him a lift home in his Merc. That was the point I was alluding to.

I woulda told the f*cker to run to Melwood, it might have got him fit!

Honestly, what has happened to him? He can't even take a corner now....apparently they were worth millions at Blackpool....

Back on topic, we need to be looking for the next Robbie Fowler, not the Robbie Fowler, I'm sure there is a God 2.0 ready somewhere?

We were. I've seen a few things in Adam Morgan that I see in Robbie.

But of course, we all said that with Neil Mellor to.

Would it be that bad to have Robbie in till the end of the season? If he get's us just 5 goals from standing in the right place, it would be warranted, considering we are relying on own goals for us. wink

He might just help out one or two at the club, in front of goal also......Andy Carroll might turn into a 6'4 Robbie Fowler overnight....well at least I can dream!

If you read Fowler's book (which is a great read incidently) the thing that struck me was his progress when he was younger rapid progress everywhere he went it was fast progress right through Liverpool and Englang youth. I have not read Owen's book but I expect the same situation was there. Because they were rare talents that only come once every ten years maybe. Its a long long time since we had anyone coming through like that Gerrard probably the last one. I don't know whether that is just bad luck or something to do with our set up.

Trouble is though he would take then out round town on the razz afterwards. One step forward ten steps back. Can you imagine Suarez drunk does not bear thinking of.

expand it out to all english clubs during that period and the british players produced during the 90's was remarkable. Shearer, Fowler,Collymore, Beckham, Owen, Gerrard, Giggs, Gazza, Scholes, Ince, sharpe, Redknapp, Hutchinson, Macmanaman, Barmby, Cole, Les ferdinand.
this lot now are pants in comparison, not just us but UTD as well are not producing the english talent.
