Looking at the paper today I see my once top club is upper mid table. John Henry pre season “It would be a major disappointment If we don’t qualify for champions league football this season” – Prepare yourself for a major disappointment John. This is the way I see it now. Dalglish has done ok some of the football has been good at times and of course we have won the Carling Cup. We appear to be well off from our primary targets though and huge investment in new players has not resulted in a step change in performance. Kenny has done ok but that’s all and not enough to result in his sacking unless your names Roman Abramovich. So Kenny stays for now. However back in Boston we have an owner who is majorly disappointed doubly so because it appears his act of generosity in releasing such huge transfer funds has been squandered. How disrespectful those limeys are. Back in Boston to the forums, phone ins, local papers have been full of the talk of the money spent on Liverpool to the starvation of Redsox. Adam a top centre quarter, Carroll advanced lineman, Henderson and Downing top centre side quarter men. So those Limeys are ok for a year or two now, right? Back in Liverpool it depends on your belief now. Either Henry is going to recognise the situation, accepts mistakes were made and release major funds this close season again possibly selling Downing, Adam and Carroll. Or maybe you believe Carroll, Henderson, Adam and Downing are going to come good. Or maybe you think we there and just a striker will see us right? My take on it is those players are not de-motivated they are simply not good enough at that level, I have thought that all season and nothing has changed my mind not even a bit. I don’t buy the tactics argument a good player is a good player whatever the tactics. I cannot see Henry investing again other than 1 or 2 players may £25m outlay. And we are going to suffer probably from the loss of Gerrard and Carragher who are coming to the end of their careers. As for Dalglish at 62 he is what is is he is not suddenly going to learn more about football. So guys sorry I see more cons than pros and unless something fundamental happens I see a similar position for us next season but every season we remain like this the club diminishes relative to Utd, City, Arsenal, Chelsea and now Spurs. For those who disagree with my viewpoint please tell me what will change next season because that is what I cannot grasp if I am to see champions league next season.

Off the field and of perhaps more significance the long term vision for the club remains silent and we are no nearer to a decision on the stadium.

fair post stan much correct , but as i said yes he has done great in the cups and very much credit for that , but loads of money spent and in march not even 40 points yet only 4 wins at home , not one liverpool player in the league has scored at anfield in 2012 star striker 2 goals in 16 games , other star striker doesnt play , the team in relegation form and a likely league finishing position of 10th to 7th , no stadium announcments no big transfers according to comolli things are far from right and BIG decisions need to be made to move LFC forward for the LONGTERM future .
