Not sure how you can label Benitez as a failure when he won us the FA cup, the Champions League, UEFA super cup, charity shield.....and got us our best league finish since most people can remember, finishing above our biggest rivals in the process whilst playing excellent attacking football resulting in over 100 goals in 1 season. Plus, his falling out with the owners was the catalyst which eventually saw them removed from power. You may not like Rafa but a failure he ain't.
I tend to ignore rumours and one-sided stories when forming my opinions. That said, I respect your stance on not wanting Rafa back, but am interested to know who you'd suggest as an alternative.....and does he fit the following criteria:

1) experience of managing, and winning things with a big club
2) track record of never falling out with boss/colleagues/players
3) never worked for LFC before
4) never wasted money on transfers

I don't believe such a person exists but am open to your suggestions....
Why do they have to have experience of winning things with a big Club, we have had that before and it still has'nt done us any good in the end. The way I see it is this, what do we have to lose by gambling on a young unproven manager who is trying to make a name for himself, we have just as much chance of hitting the jackpot with that than an experienced one, we are currently the sixth best team in the country overall, we wont drop too much if it fails but if not he could deliver maybe a fifth place or outside chance of a fourth if he gets it right over the next 10 years if he is successful.

I would say we are exactly the 7:th best team in England atm, since we occupy that spot in the EPL table, but what do I know?

Just thought it would be interesting to hear an analysis about why we supposedly are N:o 6 and not N:o 7.

I think overall we are behind the big three of United, City and Chelsea, behind the fourth best which for me is Arsenal and over the last few seasons we have been caught and overtaken by Spurs. I do think we are still above your Newcastle's, Villa's and Everton's overall like I said I base it overall not just over one season regardless of what will happen this season, so like I say I think we are sixth best team in this country.

Such a ridiculous comment from a ridoculous person.

Biggest trophy in last 2 decades and consistently provided a competitive team. Dalglish in less than one year is almost 50% towards rafas total spend.

I was always told if you have nothing intelligent to say keep quiet.

You can't work it out like that! The team in 7th place IS the 7th best team. What if we finished 2nd last year but changed half of our players - where would you place us then? The average recent finishing position is 100% irrelevant as it does not take into consideration injuries, ageing players, new arrivals, players that have left, changes in management, changes in ownership - and it doesn't take into account big changes (positive AND negative) of the teams around us. Sorry, but you can only go by the current season.
FIFA use a form of 'averaging' for their world rankings and look how insanely inaccurate that often is.
