I think the 'window' came in about 10 years ago, to fall in line with other countries who seemed to think it was a good idea. Whatever next? a winter break?!?! please god no - they already get a summer break! I'm not comfortable with the idea of players getting paid more and more but doing less and less for their money. They've already got it easier than the previous generation by playing fewer games in a season, AND many players get rotated/rested as it is. Giving them the winter off makes no sense.

Out of interest, do players get paid between the end of the season and the start of pre-season training?

Another reason why loans are a farce (got this from wikipedia but was unaware of the situation to be honest). It looks like Pacheco is being sub-let!!!

Gotta laugh at Atletico's 'option to buy' him.......they're so impressed by their loan signing that they've loaned him to someone else!!! A permanent deal doesn't look like it's on the cards anytime soon for liverpool's one-time ''next big thing"!

adebayor is a prime example of whats wrong with loan system, spurs flying and ade is on fire this season, but he cant play against city.

Yeah, heard that at the time (during the summer). Absolute lunacy. Thought there'd been some mistake when I heard it first. First time I've ever come across a case like that before. Wonder how he's been getting on over there. Shame things haven't worked out for him at LFC like most of us hoped they would, but sadly it doesn't look like that will change.

Think we should just get Pacheco back, the fella hasn't even been on the bench for the last 5 games. Isn't that the whole point of loaning these young players out to clubs like Rayo, so they can get some playing time?

Poor guy, we should loan him out to Wigan or Blackburn.

Your right Pops,if we dont trust him to do a job in our team the next best thing maybe to get him playing in Europe to gain more experience but to see hes sitting warming benches and no one want to buys him over there then whats the point? we may aswell get him back and give him experience here of our leagues,as Thundyr said especially if we are paying all his wages,he will be of better use to us if hes in the mix in this country,i just cant see any point to farming him to clubs that arnt interested.

If he can't get on the pitch for Rayo, how can he think of representing LFC?
